I could not get the pictures in the last post to show up, so I redid the photobucket folder, and now am redoing this one. if it doesn't work, I don't know why. Here are progress shots of the kinto favorite and Kabaya tyrannosaurs Kuni commissioned from me to replicate the color and pattern of dinoike's large rex figure: A base of neutral tannish, covered with a liberal brackish wash, then drybrushed with desert sand: Next, I applied a drybrush of straw over the whole figure to yellow up the bellies, then I drybrushed raw sienna over the top half: Next, I applied a dark umber on the top half, and added the spots and pattern details. After this, I will drybrush a coffe brown over it to bring out the details. After that, it is eyes, mouth and claws...: As usual follow this link to all of the photos: s249.photobucket.com/albums/gg210/tetonbabydoll/KUNI%20COMMISSION%20REXES/

Ok, after some color revision, here is my first pass on a final paint for the Kinto. I painted the inside of the mouth ( English Rose ), teeth ( straw ), cheek muscles ( rose pink ), eyes ( straw with black pupils ), nostrils ( black ), and claws ( dark umber ),. Dinoike's figure has yellow crests, but this was left off the Kabaya and Sue rexes, as they did not have prominent eye crests. The Kinto does however, and in lieu of explicit instructions, I went wityh a yellow ochre. I like it a lot. I have tried to sneak yellow crests past Kuni before though, namely on the Kabaya allo, so we'll see...
