Recently, I have found an archeological treasure. It's the apatosaurus which came with a box of space aliens, from the "AIRGAM BOYS" collection made in Spain during the early 80's. I remember receiving the box as a christmas gift, when I was around 4 years old. Actually I only conserve the dinosaur, I have lost all the rest. But as you see it came with a couple of "ape" astronauts and a little robot: The dinosaur itself was really well done, and interestingly enough, instead having an undeniable "retro" feel it didn't have the unfamous "brontosaurus" head. The collection also included another boxes with a space T-Rex, a red dragon and some others... Very nostalgic emotions here, this was one of my very first toys ever...

How brilliant to have that as one of your first ever dinosaur toys! Mine was just some rubbish toothy Chinasaur. It'd be great to have something as strange as this. Still, it makes sense as, y'know, dinosaurs were abducted by aliens at the end of the Cretaceous... (As an aside, that pic comes from the website of a guy who believes they were killed in Noah's flood...ha. Ha. Ha. Google Image Search, I salute you.)

My first ever dinosaur toy was the JP spitting Dilophosaurus. Again, you are quite the lucky one. I think that was my first JP toy, and one that I've recently re-acquired through randomly finding it in a collector shop in Caterham (Surrey, look it up! ). Someone should probably start a 'first ever dinosaur toy' thread.

Do you wanna watch the commercial for these toys? www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg-Gp4EHe04I would really like to know the date of this, apparently late 70's or early 80's. I received the box around 1984 or so. The series was mostly based on movies of the time ("Star Wars", "Planet of the Apes", probably "Planet of Vampires" also...). The concept of the alien dinosaurs could come from this one from 1978: A few years later in 1987 would came the "DinoRiders", kind of similar concept. But these "Airgam Boys" predates them in years!
