Like most of that stuff...except Bjork. (BJORK!?!) No no no. Bjork is fantastico. I was blessed to see her a couple of years ago at Coachella and was so close I could see her tonsils. Then the next night I got to see RATM play after a 10 year hiatus. THAT was incredible. And Manu Chao played right before them, another one of my favorites. Good times...

Mott the Hoople Nah, Consolidated. Because they didn't even know they were funny, they took themselves so seriously. ;D I love Björk too but I've never had the pleasure of seeing her or previously the Sugarcubes. I'm stuck in the middle of Missouri.

Yes, there is at least one other Dream Theatre fan in the forum. Most of the recently aforementioned bands are on my playlist. My two mainstays are Blue Oyster Cult (good ole hard rock) and Nash the Slash (hard to describe but something like progressive rock meets synth and goth). Been a BOC fan since 1978, when I first heard them on a compilation lp (you know those things the other geriatrics like myslef on the forum also called records).

Many excellent suggestions, forum! Here are a few more: Power /prog from the USA BTW, if I haven't mentioned the obvious, i.e., Priest, Maiden, Helloween, Rush etc, I assume everyone knows those already. VIRGIN STEELE (all albums highly recommended esp Marriage of H+H and House of Atreus), Steel Prophet (Messiah and Book of the Dead are my two favorites), Jag Panzer (Fourth Judgement, Age of Mastery), Cage (Darker than Black is incredible) Germany: Mob Rules, Gamma Ray, Vanden Plas, Axxis Sweden: Hammerfall, Falconer, Tad Morose Brazil: Angra Italy: Rhapsody aka Rhapsody of Fire (orchestral cheese metal at its finest) I'm sure I'm forgetting some, will update. Enjoy !

The Beatles were wonderful - true geniuses (is that the correct plural?). I've been loving them since the early 70s when I heard them on the radio as a kid, and of course I have every record they released ! Do you have the "Butcher Cover"? Hey Stoni, did you mean this one? ;D It's a tribute album. I have it because Steve Vai plays the guitar on Alice Cooper's cover version of "Hey Bulldog" .

Ah, I see ;D. Nice Cover variations, crazy 60s! The Meatles & the Breadles . Must correct myself - of course I don't have all of the Beatles releases. I'm not buying a song twice because it's offered with an alternate Cover. I'm just collecting the music.

The Adrian Belew Power Trio is touring Europe ! www.adrianbelew.net/He's one of my favourite Electric Guitar players. Don't miss the chance to experience his unique and experimental style. I'll be seeing him in Ludwigshafen and probably Berlin .

Wow! i've read this entire thread and not one mention of two of my favorite artists. One is Bob Dylan and I understand he's not for everybody. The other is a gentleman named Boz Scaggs. He started out with the Steve Miller Band . My wife and I have seen him over a dozen times and he is incredible. He has a DVD out (Greatest Hits) filmed in SF. Dreww Zing (Steely Dan) is on guitar. Without a doubt one of the best concert films I've seen. Highly reccommended. Others I enjoy are Pink Flloyd, Traffic, CSN&Y,Stones, Hendrix and the Doors and many others.
