Hm. Did anyone listen to the new Iron Maiden album "The Final Frontier"? I´m not sure yet if I´m disappointed or if the album just needs more time... They´re getting older and more mature and there won´t be a new "Aces High" anymore...

Any of the first four albums by the Swedish group "Wolf".Also, Germany's Blind Guardian "Imaginations from the Other Side or NIghtfall in MIddle Earth" (good place to start); Anything from Primal Fear (Judas Priest clones, but good in their own right). Grave Digger, all of their riff-heavy albums rock, just be ready for gravelly-throated Chris Boltendahl - kindovananti Geddy Lee; still awesome in the right mood. Edguy, dumb name, great band, can't go wrong with any of their releases. Coheed and Cambria - my latest and greatest proggy band - kinda like Rush meets Zepplin, just totally awesome ;D ;D ;D

Make that two others. Although my taste deviates away from Iron Maiden and towards SLAYER, Lamb of God, Deftones, Opeth, The Sword, Mastodon, and Fantomas. To name a few. Rock On!!

I have some proper metal heads as friends. When they come over they play their stuff. Loud. I don't mind if I'm drunk. In fact, I've really started to like Anaal Nathrakh.

I forgot Solitude Aeturnus, RAMMSTEIN (!), Iced Earth and Candlemass, among others. Many more I'll add sometime. New Maiden album just came out today in the US, I believe, so haven't gotten it yet. Last albums I bought: Priest's Nostradamus (so-so), Rammstein's Liebe ist fuer Alle Da (excellent). Lastly, Maiden fans should definitely check out interim Maiden singer Blaze Bayley's solo work, esp: Silicon Messiah and Tenth Dimension, both as good as anything Maiden's put out in the last two decades.

Radman--I've kinda moved on from Coheed, I loove their music still but their live performances and fans kinda have me burned out on the band...I'll get back into them sooner or later. I saw Rush the other night, greatest band ever, no contest haha ;D I have to check out the new Maiden album, I saw them a few months ago and they played El Dorado, which was pretty sick. My other favorite right now is Avenged Sevenfold, I met those guys last week and am gonna see them next month, they're truly an amazing band too in my opinion

Why am I not surprized. I'm a little old to be keeping up with metal. I prefer Led Zeppelin and Alice Cooper. Rush has some good stuff, and Aerosmith is really good.

You know, I like Led Zeppelin and Alice Cooper too. We young 'uns aren't completely ignorant of music history. ;D I must admit that I tend to go more for indie and heavy rock rather than metal. When I do go for metal it has to be suitably insane.

My tastes are eclectic. I like Zeppelin to the Doors to Queen to the Beatles, and I like Modest Mouse and Metallica and Tori Amos and the Killers - not to mention Vivaldi, Beethoven, Tchaikovski, Mozart, Steely Dan, the Police, Tears for Fears, Weird Al, Glen Hansard/Markéta Irglová (once), Týr, the High Kings, and... you know what I'm just naming the ones I love off the top of my head :I so you can imagine I love many more than this in almost all styles ;D

(I mean, Sepp has already mentioned some long-dead composers.) By the way....got my tickets to see Muse at Wembley Stadium today. I can forgive them the Twilight thing. And the mediocre latest album. Yeah.

Very glad to find some musical company. ;D I also love Traditional Jazz (from the earlier part of the twentieth century), film scores and other orchestral music that isn't necessarily from long ago. And World Music (with a preference for pieces which involve traditional instruments and cultural roots), in particular from Eastern countries.
