Actually, only 27% is 80's, the other 73 being 60's-70's. Other bands I forgot to add: The Doors Billy Idol Tommy James Gladys Knight The New York Dolls/David Johansen The Sex Pistols The Clash The Ramones
And only 1 of those is primarily 80's.

Wow. That is a nightmarish list of 80s. Well Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin died well before the eighties! The Beatles broke up in 1970! The Rolling Stones had most of their hits in the 60's and 70's! Led Zeppelin had all their big hits in the late sixties and seventies! Most all of the who's work was in the sixties and seventies! Pink Floyd has been recording since 1967! David Bowie had hits in the seventies! Fleetwood Mac had hits in the seventies! Queen had hits in the seventies! Styx had hits in the seventies! Deep Purple had most all of its hits in the sixties and seventies. Black Sabbath had it's major hits in the seventies. I think only Rush, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Quiet Riot, Warrent, Ratt, AC/DC, Twisted Sister and Journey would be considered true Eighties Groups! ;D

Actually, Rush has been around since '74 in their current form, and had many of their hits in the late 70's; and AC/DC had hits in the 70's with Bon Scott. Journey was around in the late 70's also.

Journey was around in the late 70's also. ;D Rush formed in 1969 in Toronto. They had two hits in 1977 Fly By Night/In the Mood and Closer To The Heart. Everything else was in the eighties. AC/DC formed in 1974 in Sydney but did not have a major hit till Highway To Hell in 1979. Bon Scott died on2-19-80 of Alcohol Abuse. All the rest of their hits were released in the eighties and nineties. Journey formed in 1973 in San Francisco. They had 5 hits in the late seventies starting with Wheel In The Sky and ending with Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin. Their peak hit period was from 1981 to 1987 when they had their biggest hit Open Arms. Their final hit was in 1996 with When You Love A Women. ;D

When I meant Rush formed in 1974, I meant their current lineup (Peart, Lee, Lifeson). Also, wasn't Dirty Deeds a big AC/DC hit from the 70's?

Also, wasn't Dirty Deeds a big AC/DC hit from the 70's? ;D Yes in July of 1974 Neil Peart replaced John Rutsey on drums. The Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap Album was released in 1981. I don't believe the song was ever released as a single though it sure gets a lot of airplay. Stairway to Heaven same thing. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds not a hit till Elton John did it. With A little Help From My Friends not a hit till Joe Cocker did it. In those days you usually had to release a single to have a hit song on the charts. ;D

Oh yeah, you guys reminded me of a lot more that I forgot about too....
The Who The Eagles Chicago Three Dog Night The Doobie Brothers Fleetwood Mac Pink Floyd The Doors Credence Clearwater Revival Pat Benatar Heart Bee Gees Bon Jovi Foreigner Meatloaf Men at Work Prince The Police The Pointer Sisters Bruce Springsteen Van Halen
And, I'm sure I'm forgetting yet some more!
Oh, and CT, I used to live in Chelsea. I now live across the Hudson on the cliffs. It's still called the NYC metro area. It's not bad. Now I have NYC as my view! I'm only a 10 minute drive away. Just down the hill and through the Holland Tunnel. I still work from time to time in The City. And, when I shop or go out at night, it's always in The Apple! There's nothing like NYC!!!

For those of you in a progressive rock/metal mood, I recommend the following:
Therion Avantasia Adagio Ayreon Black Majesty Blind Gaurdian Edguy GWAR (these guys know their parody place) Iron Maiden Kamelot Megadeth Motorhead Savatage Symphony X
And just for the holidays, my favorite at this time of year: Trans-Siberian Orchestra
I have alot of other musical tastes also (80's, goth, punk, electronic, trans, celtic, folk... but no rap (as I never really got into it))
Cheers, Dean
