Hi Kuni! Yep, when i get them I'll have to photograph them painted and unpainted. Shapeways had a little problem after I ordered my models and my Brachy made it past their computer check when it had to thin of walls somewhere. So I had to cancel the order and try and fix it.
I'm uploading the model again after I fixed her up. I'm not sure where the problem was, but hopefully it will be fine. It was a little annoying that it made it thru only to show up as a problem after I purchased it. So I guess I will have to order a small version of each model I do so I can do a quality check.
Anyway, I'll re-order them tonight and hopefully they will be all good and I'll have them soon!!! I'm dying to know what they look like and paint them....
Good idea about listing the scale. It should say the size on the right hand size (in cm I think) but I will list the size as well. I think I have both as about 1/75 and 1/50...prices get a little high with anything bigger so I have to keep them small.
Mr. Coelophysis should be alright as he was small. I'll have to try and create some cool poses for him. If he is running or jumping he would need a base, do you think people would care if he had a base to keep him stable?
I'll be showing you the pose first to see what you think of him. And they are super adorable!!!
OK, talk to you soon!

I personally think that a base for the Coelophysis or whatever else you decide to come up with would be just fine.

Here's the model of the Brachy I'm trying to get printed. I hope he turns out well! Modeling for printing seems a lot different then normal modeling so I'm trying to figure it all out. Anyway, do you think she looks good? I'll post the physical model when I get it ( if I can get it uploaded and printed correctly ;D)

Thank you! Boy, I want to see "Leonardo" so bad. I love hadrosaurs! Did you snap this pic? If you did I am so jealous ;D Its horrible the SF bay area has no natural history museum. I used to practically live at the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate park when I was a kid...and now they went and got rid of their dinosaurs. SIGH. I say you have exeptional talent, that Brachylophosaurus looks great. ;D

Angie, Sad to hear there were issues with the first few - I hope things turn out alright. That Brachy sculpt looks fantastic! My only "constructive criticism" is that the front pair of legs look very gracile for such a bulky animal. I'm sure there are hadrosaur fanatics on these boards who can speak to that sort of thing better than I I think most forum members will agree that bases are simply a must for dynamic theropod sculpts, which is one of the reasons that Malcolm's Fauna Casts typically have them. I have no problem with Coelophysis on bases - I generally attach bases to all my theropods anyways. One other quick question - how hard is it to change the scale with these 3D models? I suspect most forumgoers will want 1/40 Coelophysis, but I prefer 1/50 scale, since a lot of Japanese dinos are at that scale.

Here's a diagram of "Leonardo" you may want to see: ..and another model based on that particular specimen: ;D

Hey guys! Thanks so much for this. From now on I'm going to post my WIPs and models on here (in the art section I think might be the appropriate place) for all of you to look at and critique. Thank you! The models made it passed the process and are being made for me, so soon I should have my Parasaurolophus and my Brachy in my hands.
Jeb, thats awesome. I'm taking a trip out to DC this month to visit my sister who moved there. She has already accepted the fact that I am dragging her to every museum in the area (the smithsonian, the one in Philly, maybe the Carnegie). Fun! Thanks again for these references, I really appreciate it!

very cool models- that 3D modeling with the abillity to print the files as actual models makes sculptors like me 'dinosaurs' that will soon be extinct in the business I am in-

They made it!!! Yay! I like them ;D They are comparable in size to the dinotales figures at about 1/75 (at least the small ones I have are, I also made them available as larger, just get a little pricey). They seem delicate, but not bad, just don't drop them! And in this material (white strong & flexible) they are paintable I was worried about the quality, but they are both standing well and have good detail (which is hard to see in my photos). Anyway, I'll be adding more dinos to my store as I have the time. I'll be ordering the small ones for myself b4 I make them available, thats just so I can check the quality for myself first. Anyway, hope you like these. i think it is awesome cool to have my own models turned into paintable figures ;D Take care guys! Angie

I can't wait to see this line become available. ;D ...and I would love to see the line include my childhood favorite from the old movies with the effects of Ray Harryhausen: Ceratosaurus nasicornis

Thankfully, museums won't be using 3D printers for giant dinosaur sculpts anytime soon, I think. HOLY CRAP angie, those look great!! Let us know when you make them available on shapeways I look forward to seeing some little Coelophysis, too! I think there are a lot of small dinos that would be great to have at 1:40 or 1:50 scale.

I agree 1/40 figures of smaller dinosaurs and othe prehistoric organisms would really be great. You could use them in Dioramas with the big boys etc.

Glad you like the dinos

Thanks guys!!!!
Well, I'm at work making the legs a little fatter as you all suggested. When I got these little guys I did notice that the legs could be fatter, so I'm working away to improve that. Oye. i see myself spending money at Shapeways!
When i fiddle with them I'll upload them again and make them available to everyone. I'm busy with the Coelo and will have it up to get your opinions on ASAP, i also see Jeb would like a Cerato, which would be awesome so I'll have to make one!
Oh, you boys and your theropods!!! ;D
