Do any of the companies have any new prehistoric mammals in the pipeline? Who? What?
Thanks, Loren

Not that I am aware of. Now that Safari released their 2010 list of figures, it is most likely that Only CollectA/Procon ( or perhaps Papo) will release prehistoric mammals next year... that is if they continue their venture in adding Prehistoric mammal to their collection. I, too, am hoping for some mammals

I'm hoping that Procon or someone will add a Terror Bird to their line, it's a shame that there hasn't been more figures of it!

CollectA is pretty much all we've got to hope for now--Bully killed their line years ago (with a few stragglers still around); Schleich never released any more after their first year; Safari won't (and is in fact discontinuing most of the line); and Papo would probably just produce another mammoth ;D
But at least there is a company to still hope for--they did start with the mammals in 2009, and hopefully they will continue in 2010 (I thought for sure we had some hints from them by this time last year).

With Collecta releasing such huge numbers of animals at reasonable prices - both in Europe and over here in the US, I feel that they must be making $$ off of them. That is the only guarantee that they will continue and if they do, prehistoric mammals will probably - I am guessing - become a bigger part of the mix. And their sculpt will get better. Unlike Safari, which seems to be affected with sclerosis to some degree (though they have had some winners in the past few years), Collecta has shown a pattern of improving the quality and accuracy of their sculpts.
Any word of their upcoming 2010 offerings yet?

I'd prefer a terror bird from safari-- I imagine a terror bird from procon being a little "thick".

Yah, totally agree with you. Any hint from the new issues of PT?

So? It'd look better if it wasn't. I would prefer Procon, Safari would probably make its legs from toothpicks.

Safari's mammals are way better than Procon's though.
And the Safari dodo is very well proportionate.

I'd prefer a terror bird from safari-- I imagine a terror bird from procon being a little "thick". Gulp ............. I'm gonna agree with you on that one Cordy I think you need quite tight sculpting for a 'terror bird' and Procon aren't quite there yet. It would be nice if Bully re did theirs tho. Safari aren't capable of doing it as it doesn't have a tail to balance it on ;D

My only one left, the Spinosaurus, is going on the block real soon. I will wait til Malcolm makes HIS Spino, and Carnegie can go to he**

Have you ever owned the sinraptor or albertosaurus by carnegie bucket? Nice thick feet AND they can stand on them without tail assistance too... Heh, blackdanter, I think it would be neat if bullyland re-did theirs! (and that deinotherium too so people will stop whining about not having one!)

If you had read the first few posts, you would have realized that I was not the one to mention terror birds
