*Sigh*
Battats should simply not be repainted. Not that the original is any great shakes, but ...

The original color scheme wasn't very good I don't think. However I think that your recent battats, teton, seem a little heavy on the drybrushing. Maybe try more washes instead??

The color on this one is too flat and drab. It needs some more - COLOR. It almost looks B & W.

Yea, I just don't see the big guys as being very bright. This was done to fit in with the rest of the herd. As for the sail, I figure it was only colorful if either the sun was showing through it, or it was flushed with blood for display, and I did not want that as a permament look. I took the position that the webbing between the spines would look a lot like the webbing on an octopus's arms. Normal skin color under every day conditions.
As for the drybrushing and overall lack of....sparkle, say, I just want to let the skin texture and detail on these pieces speak for themselves. That is my only real complaint about the Battat color choices, is that the paint was applied sloppily and rather too thick, obscuring the beauty of the sculpts.....just my opinion. I am in a drab color sheme mood I guess, but aside from display devices, I am not at all sure there would be a lot of color on the bigger dinos. And, IF trikes are really female of the species, and toro male, the trike shield and horns would have been all buisiness, and toro's colorful display.....
