Its really not that bad Cordy. I know it looks retro, but there are **nice*8 details and I really like the sculpt of the head. I figure the tail and neck are way too short, and of corse the front feet are wrong, but the feet are much better on this than many sauropods, certainly surpassing carnegies old one.The central body is nicely done. I have certainly seen worse figures, and the size of it is nice. I almost think the body is too large to be 1/40. Maybe 1/35? Discounting length of couse. I bet it would make a large enough and interesting base for Al to work with...

Still, considering how easy info on dinosaurs is to come by these days, you think they would have done better. It's still a cool toy, but I don't think it should have any museum name attached to it unless it is labeled as being a "retro" figure.

Overpainted or not (good job, Kevin!), this one is a MONUMENT! It has quickly become one of my all time faves. ThereĀ“s something special about it.

I did not mind the original coloration so much, but the wash and drybrushing just really allow the detail on this to be so much more visible. If you're a sauropod fan, I say this is well worth it. If not, then the...oddly retro look may put you off. But, aside from accuracie, this is a finely realized sculpt, at least for me.

It has a more camarasaur-like appearance which is at odds with the real Apatosaurus, which was a robust diplodocid. Still, I must admit that having seen this figure, it's quite a nice sculpt. And of course Kevin's done a good job adding that nifty blue stripe.
