Human figues for scale

I want to display some human figures besides some dinosaurs to show the scale, and I think JP characters would be the best choice but since some dinos would be in a bigger scale than the JP humans, do you know what figures (from any collection or company, action figures included) would look alright?

12 inches Gijoes are way too big, I mean something between these and the 3.5' of the JPs.

Figures around 5' or so would be perfect.

Figures that would look alright besides Dinosaurs like jungle explorers, military, or even guys in a modern suit or modern generic fashion) of course I don't want barbarian warriors or sci-fi based freaks...

I have vintage scale architectural figures available-i have the original old molds to cast these-the line of figures was originally made to populate architectural models made from the 1950's throughthe 1970's so they have a cool vintage look to the style of sculpting- the photo shows a display of these figures I made - the figures range in sizes from tiny to fairly large- i have a size that is 5.5 inches tall-the second largest row witht he medium size scientist is 5.5 inches tall -I use these all the time in proposal models for clients- they aregreat for showingthe scale of things in relation to man- I have used them manytimesfor dinosaurs- i especially like using the scientist figure in his lab coat- PM me if these seem what you are looking for- I don't really sell these anymore but can part with some-

Unfortunately, my favorite figures from this vintage collection of figures are not shown in this photo- the figures are 1" tall metal castings of Playboy bunnies,in costume bunny ears and tail and all in great detail- that were originally made for an architectural model for the then brand new opening soon Playboy Club in Chicago-

Thanks foxilized. I hope that others come up to show different scale humans - I'd love to find new sources for more variety. Especially figures around 1:60th scale and between 1:12th and 1:16th seem harder for me to find. Would be nice if anyone had an idea - I'd prefer figures similar to those made by Preiser.

'Man in Suit' would be good to display alongside the mid-scale (ie. 1:50) Favorite dinosaurs.

Ideas? Well, I really cannot help with scales (I must tell you i'm a math-retard... among other several retardings more) but for the moment I've been using JP kenner figures wich are about 4 inches tall, then Gijoe hasbro figures and JP hasbro figures wich are both about 3 inches tall, and they look great besides dinos. Then since I don't have any other options I use whatever little figure I find and right now I'm using little plastic indians of 2.4 inches for smaller scales. but they are only temporary, until I find some figures that size that fit better.

Some that I am willing to buy are the human figures from the Safari and Zoo lines both of Schleich and Papo, wich are about 3.5 and 3.1 inches tall:

Just yesterday I received a new 1:20 human figure which I would recommend:


Minimen "Andreas Köpke" (goalkeepers' coach of the German national team), height without base 91 mm (corresponding to a height of 1.82 m). However this figure may not find many fans among collectors in England and the Netherlands. Apart from that it is a highly detailed figure that has not been conventionally sculpted but is based on a 3d scan of Köpke himself. The clothes and the relaxed stance are exactly what I'm looking for.


From left to right: "Settler Father" from Frontier Land series by Schleich, approx. 1:20; Minimen "Andreas Köpke", 1:20; Safari Ltd. "President of the United States", approx. 1:18. Unfortunately the position of the hands of the latter look a little strange without a speaker's desk.

Edit: Other Minimen figures (e.g. Klinsmann & Bierhoff) may also be suitable as 1:20 scale figures : www.minimen.de

Cool - brontodocus, think I'm gonna get that 1:20 Köppke ;D since it's the one figure that you don't really recognize as the one it's supposed to be. I certainly don't want soccer players running between my Dinosaurs (uhm, ... maybe Oliver Kahn who went to school with me).

I think the Andreas Köpke and Oliver Bierhoff figures are best suited for our purposes. I'm also quite pleased with the quality. Interestingly, the Minimen website also offers a small cabinet for the minimen that looks quite nice and may be just right for Kaiyodos:

Okay, once again I'm reviving this one here. Very recently I found some nice human figures I wasn't aware of before. They are made by Miniland (Spain) and belong to a series that's named "Los Amigos del Mundo". There are several families from different nations. I bought both the "fathers" of the South American and European family:




The European dad has a disturbingly unhealthy looking complexion, though. Both figures have a height of 131 mm and are approx. scale 1:14. I was surprised to see how many figures I have that are in scale with these two guys.
