As some of you may remember, a month ago I posted pictures of my homemade Diplocaulus figure. Now, I would like to share the rest of my sculpey creations just for some fun. Now, I made these figures while I was sick and heavily medicated for a few days. What better way to past the time when you can't do anything else? So I used up my stock of Sculpey ( from other projects) and decided to play around and make some figures. I have chosen the marine reptiles and amphibians since they don't have as much complicated details as dinosaurs. Besides, I am not a gifted sculptor, I just wanted to play around with making figures. With that in mind, the figures are NOT accurate at all, I know. It was not my intention to make some accurate figures ;I just want past the time and have some fun while recovering. In the amphibian set, only the Diplocaulus survived the "accident" that also claimed one of the best, the Doli ( modeled after the sea monster set of never released figures). What you see here are what survived, one of the plesios actually have a broken paddle, but I was able to salvage it with super glue. Hopefully you will all have fun with it and not take it seriously, I sure did. ;D The Group: Stenopterygius... Mixosaurus... Cymbospondylus... Plotosaurus... Macroplata ( back) and Muraenosaurus (front) sorry, they are so dark Hope you all enjoyed this production ;D

I'm telling you man, put little metal rings on the backs with some invisible string and you would have one really cool hanging mobile.

Cool boki! I made a Tylosaurus last summer out of sculpey, it actually looks very similar to yours in sculpting style and paint application! They look like they could be good figures if rendered in plastic

Meds were the usual flue stuff, nothing interesting... just makes you all sleepy and dream about dinosaurs! ;D Thanks guys, I'm not sure if I will continue the projects, it was a good experiment, but who knows, I may get sick again (god forbids) that I will pick it up once more Mobile is an interesting idea...

It is a fantastic idea. I see mobiles of fish painted up all pretty. how awesome would it be to have one of prehistoric marine critters. The colors you use are perfect for that kinda thing.

I like the idea of a mobile of these, too. You should give it a shot, Boki. I think they'd look great!

Do you need any other substances or materials beside Sculpey to "bake" those guys?

You need an oven! But otherwise no. And paint them AFTER you have baked them, when I was little I made a clay sculpture and painted it while it was unbaked, when I put it in the oven all the paint burned off.
