I only collect museum line figures/major companies(once i have one of these, i need the lot), figures that aren't often produced (a set i saw in a shop with polacanthus/scelidosaurus and plesiosaurus springs to mind(must buy that) or figures I like. Mainly ones I like (and I like most of them). But with the major Schleich stockist having gne out of the dinosaur business, the papo store not having the 8 i need, and chap mei being the only recognised company left, I mainly have to rely on trades from you guys or my uncle getting me some on special occasions (birthday, Christmas etc.). Sorry if I contradict myself in there.

Something else: the "power" is not only related to the money the items cost, it's not like you buy them in the shop near your house. The "power" is also achieved because the owner of the complete collection is supposed to have a high grade of "detective" and "hunter" skills. The rarest the item, the higher the skills of the collector need to be to find it. Bow down to the stoneage hunter!

Stoneage has said that he has bought many of the things when they came out, so it isn't really a "hunt" ;D

Stoneage has said that he has bought many of the things when they came out, so it isn't really a "hunt" ;D Actually it is a hunt. I started at the Childrens Museum in Indianapolis. I bought all the Museum quality dinosaurs that came in. Then because they were so slow in getting the new ones in I began to mail order. Then I came across stuff at the Toyology store at Sarasota Square Mall in Florida. Late in the game I learned about the internet. I discovered Randy Knolls site which showed me an enormous amount of possibilitys. I learned about E-Bay aqnd started reading PT. All of which lead to many prehistoric animal finds. I bought stuff from Hong Kong, UK, France, Canada etc. Yes it has been a hunt and I want my power restored to 100%. ;D

Didn't you get all of your battats, your schleichs, your safaris and your WwD's at stores though? I bought all but 2 of the Battats at one store. It was all they had. I bought the other two at a different store in boxes at the same mall. I bought all of the Schleichs on line from either Linkand pin or Dinosaur Farm. Carnegie I started buying at the childrens museum, later mail order and now on line. WWD I bought from a UK store Onlinehobbies on the internet. Bullyland I bought most a Toyology store in Sarasota and some at the Childrens museum. Dinotails and Bandi E-Bay. Some Marx Prehistoric Times sets E-Bay. Other Marx sets were Christmas gifts when I was a Kid. ROM Childrens Museum. Larami Target. TS Toys mail order, Dinosaur Farm, and Bell. Invicta Childrens Museum, Dinosaur Farm, E-bay, E-bay UK, and Blackdanter. Where do you get your stuff. Recognize my power CT. You can call me King Stoneage CT. ;D

Most of my dinosaurs are tiny little things, likely what you would call Chinasaurs, but some are better made than the usual Chinasaur stuff.
A fair few are Yowie dinosaurs-I have all the Series C International Dinosaurs, and may end up trying to get more of the Australian dinosaurs via the internet.
I don't have that many big ones-the largest dinosaurs I have are the WWD T-Rex and a Diplodocus that I got at the British Museum of Natural History while I was on holiday in London back in 2007.
Lately, I have become focused towards collecting obscure dinosaurs. Dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus are dime a dozen, and I already have quite a few. Thus, models of unusual dinosaurs, such as Dilong, tend to be the ones I prefer to get.
I'll make an exception for Jurassic Park toys, some of which I'm thinking of hunting down due to a childhood lack of them.

I was very pterosaur-centric and then I joined this forum - it has opened my eyes, wallet and collection up alot more. Safari, ROM, Invicta, the "minature" high quality Japanese figures, etc.
Taxa that I am now interested in, in addition to the pterosaurs are: Burgess Shale and contemparies, fossil fish, and fossil invertebrates, and a few "interesting" dinosaurs from a variety of major clades (more from the look of the individual figure than the taxon).
Ebay, online toy stores, and people within this forum have been the major sources of my collection over the last couple of years.
