Did you repaint some of those?

Sorry lio, I've been on a short holiday to London. Both the dark Ichthyosaurus and Liopleurodon in the Invicta group photo are repaints, the Tamiya Parasaurolophus is a model kit that requires painting (other than that it would be uniformly green). The Deinotherium on the photo is in its original, heavily worn colour but I've repainted that one too, photos are somewhere here in this thread: dinotoyforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=collections&thread=2734&page=6#87282

I would have loved to meet you, too! Initially I was thinking of sending you a PM in advance. However, we were staying with friends we hadn't met for years in Walton-on-Thames. I only visited London (NHM of course, I've never been there before) on monday but we had to plan on-site which day we would go there so I didn't know beforehand.

Ah, well, another time perhaps (said I, arbitrarily ;D). I hope you enjoyed your NHM visit; it still cannot compare with some of the continental museums (let alone the American ones) in terms of modern dinosaur reconstructions, but it has its own abundant charms.

Since you never answered me in your Dinotales thread, how long did it take you to build up your Dinotales collection?

I hope you enjoyed your NHM visit; it still cannot compare with some of the continental museums (let alone the American ones) in terms of modern dinosaur reconstructions, but it has its own abundant charms. The sheer vastness of the NHM collecions makes it so overwhelming. Yes, I've really enjoyed it but I have not finished resizing the 400+ photos I took, yet. And I even forgot to photograph the Attenborosaurus (sorry, Adam, at least I made some shots of Rhomaleosaurus cramptoni). And next time I visit London I'll pm you in advance, himmapaan. Since you never answered me in your Dinotales thread, how long did it take you to build up your Dinotales collection? Sorry DinoLord, I must have overlooked that. It took less than one and a half years, I received my first ones in November 2009 (series 7).

A shindig indeed. I'm not sure I quite qualify for a shindig (the faded, retiring, twilit creature that I am ;D), but yes, we should all meet if possible, that would be brilliant.

Wow, that'd be great. But I don't believe I'd return before next year... Horridus, I always thought you were living at quite a distance from London?

Horridus, I always thought you were living at quite a distance from London? Not always. Even when I am up here (and given that I don't have anywhere to live next year yet, I might not be) it only takes a couple of hours (I actually went on a day trip to the NHM back in January). It's just a bit expensive.

It was actually the first Paleocraft model I bought but I've never painted it - until now... Paleocraft Moa, Dinornis giganteus or D. robustus, scale approx. 1:18 - 1:20. Andi Köpke is 1:20 scale. Yes, it's perhaps a little uninventive to use blue on a Moa's neck...

Great photos Bronto,
BTW, I don't fancy Burt Reynolds' chances against the terror bird! Is that an ice cream he's holding too?

Thanks, stoneage! Yes, the model is very elegant looking and not fat. Painting it was quite simple so I wonder why I had to keep it unfinished for over a year...

I have painted my shapeways Psittacosaurus by Battle_Brak. Applying pigments and detailing with art pens is much easier than painting with my notoriously defective or worn paintbrushes.

Beautiful one - you did a great job, also on the base.
