Incredible collection. Where did find that Sega Tyrannosaurus? I'm not sure I've ever seen that figure. :)Thanks Tyrannax! I found it on ebay Germany. It was a seller "lordhelmchen67" who imports from Japan. But that was over a year ago. Apparently the Sega Tyrannosaurus is sold out . Oh, but I see he sells CollectA, never saw the CollectA whales before . Thanks. Yes, SEGA has an entire list of retired beauties that collectors would die to get their hands on.

May I ask: What is the scale for the Schleich Anhanguera? You never added it on your Facebook list! Hi hermes, yes, there is a reason for that. I have actually never measured it. I do not have it at hand so I can only guess. It should be around 1:15 to 1:20 scale - I think the skull is something like 25 to 30 mm long. But I need to check that if I can figure out where I stored it...

Then he's sitting with the wrong crowd! Is he about the same size as the Wild Safari one? Then that would mean they're the same scale.

Then he's sitting with the wrong crowd! Is he about the same size as the Wild Safari one? Then that would mean they're the same scale. At least from the body I think both are similar in size. The Schleich's skull may be slightly shorter but its proportions are strange, anyway. But I really should measure it to be sure. When you estimate the scale of a figure you need to decide on which measurement you calculate. The problem with pterosaur figures is that often the wings are proportionally too short. I have estimated the Safari pterosaur to be 1:20 scale but others may come to a different result. The reason is: If you take the skull length you may actually end up with a scale around 1:15 for the Safari (given 35 mm skull length compared with approx. 500 mm original lenght). If you rely on wing span (approx. 170 mm compared with 4 to 5 metres in the original) you get something between 1:23 and 1:29. That is partially due to the proportions and partially due to the posture of the figure. So in the Safari figure I just made a compromise with the 1:20 scale. edit: I forgot to mention that the Schleich Anhanguera is no ReplicaSaurus figure so Schleich gives no scale for it.

Hey brontodocus - This is a truly BREATHTAKIN'collection You seem to be a succesful hunter! You truly make me jealous with that Gakken Araki Diplodocus love your portrait of the Para ..... ..... it proves that Schleich is able to produce beautiful Dinosaurs. They just don't do it that often ;D.

They just don't do it that often ;D. Thanks postsaurischian, yet I'd say that your collection seems to be a lot bigger and I'm really envious of all those rare Kaiyodos. The Gakken Diplodocus skeleton is also one of my favourites. It is 923 mm long! Araki made (at least) three skeletons for Gakken, the others are Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops (together with a display that carries skulls of Torosaurus, Chasmosaurus, Styracosaurus, Centrosaurus, and Protoceratops). It was not that difficult to get them in 2008 and there were sellers in the U.S. who had them but I decided to buy from hlj.com in Japan. The Diplo was only about €21,-, The Trike 11,- and the Tyrannosaurus 10,-. Unfortunately they have been discontinued and may be really hard to get now. I haven't seen these anywhere here on the forum, yet. The entire neck of the Diplodocus is moveable by the way, each neck vertebra is connected by a ball joint to the next. And the Triceratops can be turned into a Torosaurus because the heads are interchangeable. I really love them but I have never seen more than just these three. Oh, and I'd say the Schleich Parasaurolophus is easily the best Schleich dinosaur figure that is still on the market. Oddly enough, they normally discontinue the good ones and keep the trash. Thinking of Edmontonia, Desmatosuchus, Shonisaurus, Plateosaurus and some more. But the Schleich ReplicaSaurus Parasaurolophus has also a nicely done paint job. Actually it was the first of the line I bought from a shop, I wasn't interested in the others before 2008.

ANd how much it cost? Thanks, sid, there are actually two Sega T-rexes, the older, grey one... ...which I bought for less than €10,- from an ebay seller named "lordhelmchen67" but that was over a year ago and I never saw it again. Whereas the other one, the red one with the yellow stripe... ...is the newer version and I bought it from mugentoys quite recently (thanks to blackdanter for the link but it seems to be sold out as well now: mugentoys.stores.yahoo.net/97436516930.htmlI recall to have seen it at amazon.com, though. BTW: If you all can see the red T. rex in the bottom photo that would mean that finally I found a way how to make a direct link to photos on facebook which would mean I won't have to need to upload them to photobucket anymore. I have photos of pretty much every figure I own there, so I may do some updates here every now and then, too.

That shop does ship internationally then? Am tempted to buy the X-Plus Alberto from them and the T. rex as and when it becomes available.

Yeah, i can clearly see 'em Even if they are both REALLY good, i must admit that i prefee the older Rex model over the red one... I don't know, it looks more natural

Hi Horridus, yes, mugentoys ships internationally. Shipping was $27,- for the red T-rex but it was quite a large parcel sent with USPS and took only something like five days to arrive. Oh, and sid, the red T-rex is also very much rearing up which I don't like too much, actually when you look at the feet you see it's leaning forward on the photo. On the other hand it can stand perfectly on its feet without the supportive rod - only more upright.

Why not do a little update and show the Hasbro/Kenner JP (2009) Tyrannosaurus? A really big figure.

Dependent on the light the eyes look really vivid: They are made of orange, translucent plastic and are inserted in small holes in the soft latex head so that they seem to glow a little when light shines into the mouth. I already considered installing small LEDs behind the eyes... ;D

I really don't like that throat, it just looks unatural. Of course it does. The Tyrannosaurus needs to be able to wolf down the 3.75'' soldier figure that's included in the box without chewing, so a little more space than normal is definitely required... ;D Of course it's unnatural and there are many more inaccuracies but in this case I didn't care at all.

Totally! I don't see how the throat is the biggest of your problems either; it's not like there's evidence that points to a small throat. What you should hate is the head, feet, legs, arms, etc...

I feel sad now...no one commented on mine. For some reason the conversation just turned to Doctor Who...mind you, I'm happy about that... ;D
By the way, why have you posed yours like the original Bull Rex? It can stand more upright than that now...
