So here they are, my first batch of repainted figures for 2010! For starters, both Battat figures are damaged, the T-Rex was missing an arm ( I used another cheaper figures arm to fix it) and the Styracosaurus's paint was badly chipped. Some of you already had the pleasure of seeing the "other" Battat T-rex I repainted for someone, so this is my second. So here we go.... Battat T-rex: I wanted something "different" from my other two big repaints (Carnegie Spino and Giga). I have decided on a more elaborate design and color choice, lots of layering on this guy ;D How he compares with the Giga... and the spino... The trio together... and the "beauty" contest ;D and the "side-view" of the group The Styracosaurus... together with the T-rex... A closer look... That's it for now ladies and germs! ;D Stay tuned, I have one more Styraco and a trio of DZ metal mammals, that was repainted for someone. I will post it once he received the box and approved it for posting ;D

Styrac is awesome! Love the paint scheme on the Rex, but it's hard to se why such a large animal would need such elaborate coloring. Of course, if you aren't doing it for a real life design, then it rocks.

Thanks, I really like how the styraco turned out. I will be posting the other one that I repainted for Lordsgym, it would be interesting comparison and I'm curios to see what you all think. Stay tuned.

Though I don't think these big dinosaurs had such bright colors. I do think they are well painted and look good.

well i think the styracosaurus could have been colorful like he has painted it. The body itself ist all that colorful. the rex is a bit bright but in lush forest areas the striping he has given it would have helped it blend in with the surroundings. I honestly dont think that rex in particular would have been say the solid grays i keep seeing it portrayed as i think it would have been similar in color to animals that live in lush forest today. Grays are found on reptiles that blend in with the ground rex would have blended in with trees so bright greens browns an other brighter colors could be possible. of coarse orange is not that far from being brown and we still have no evidence to say what color dinosaurs where so for all we know they might have been colored like this.

Its pretty much a no brainer at this point but hey I'll say it again. Nobody knows for sure what colors/patterns these things were. Grey, brown, green, bright flashy colors. Honestly, if modern nature is any indicator I say they are all fair game as options. I suppose it would be unrealistic for them to have been neon pink with glow in the dark peace signs but you understand what I mean.

I would consider Boki's psychedelic big cat print explosion Tyrannosaurus to be 'unrealistic', but that doesn't mean it's not bloody brilliant.

There are some things we can rule out though - for example, I doubt tylosaurus was bright pink! And velociraptor probably weren't all brown as in JP

You read that part right? Brown velociraptors doesn't seem too crazy to me. Not something I would personally apply to my reconstruction but if I saw it on someone else's I wouldn't call it out. Just as long as they had feathers.
