Oh, and I wasn't specifically thinking of your Favorite rex, by the way; mine provokes the same reaction. ;D I also keep inserting 'u' into 'Favorite' instinctively and have to delete it afterwards... I realised, but thought it worth pointing out that mine does have a slightly better side....er, for some reason....still, I might paint those teeth myself at some point. Need to get some white paint first (I only have the colours I used to fix my damaged Carnegie T. rex!). And I quite understand your desire to use that particular word's real spelling.

Nice collection and great pics, Horridus! I especially like that shot of the Sega T.rex in silhouette that's going out for a stroll. He is a nice figure! I like him better than the orange one that's bellowing upwards.

IKEA is awesome - I have one of their longer shelves which holds and unbelievable amount of dinos (Though still not enough to display everything, I'm not sure there would be room in my house for that).
I think IKEA is pretty resonable, anyway, but check garage sales (boot sales for you?) and if you have anything like Craigslist, kids in college are always getting rid of nice stuff when they leave.

A couple of new arrivals - my one extant dinosaur figure (Cygnus olor) and Beipiaosaurus. (If you think a swan looks strange sitting next to a Stegosaurus, that's only because it does.) For no reason whatsoever, here's the Papo Pachycephalosaurus with its Lost World 'parent':

Here are my feathered maniraptoran dinosaur figures, which I've recently decided are my absolute favourites, and I'd very much like more. Left to right (as if they need introducing): Carnegie Microraptor, Favorite Deinonychus, Carnegie Oviraptor, Carnegie Beipiaosaurus, Schleich Cygnus, Bullyland Velociraptor, Carnegie Caudipteryx. The Carnegie Microraptor is simply gorgeous, in spite of its extra fingers.... I don't intend on making a habit of buying figures of living birds, but this mute swan is very nice. Carnegie Caudipteryx and Bullyland Velociraptor duke it out for some reason. Hurrah for time wasting! Back to my beer!

Oh, but you ought to get more living birds. I'm pretty convinced those 'extra fingers' on the Microraptor are meant to be smaller feathers. If you look at them laterally, they're flatter whilst the fingers are jointed. It's a little unfortunate that they're so close together and read more like extra digits. The black tips don't help the illusion much either.

Dead theropods are enough of a strain on my limited finances! ;D

I've recently become a lot more interested in birds, and yes it is partly because they are the Living Dinosaurs, but not only due to that. Therefore, tempt me not into buying into a whole other set of figures! I've already got a stuffed magpie ferchrissake.

Cool pictures, Horridus. I especially like your feather warning ;D I once owned the Schleich swan, too. But then I concentrated on extinct maniraptorans and sold it to a Schleich collector, together with a red parrot. Just yesterday I was tempted by Safari flamingo in Cologne Zoo Shop, but left it on the shelf.

*covets Favorite Deinonychus* Great bunch! Glad to see I'm not the only one liking the Bullyland! Once you get past the shoddy paintjob it's really a great model, if a little big for my taste.

I gave it a bit of a slamming for its hideous teeth, but apart from that it's a pretty good sculpt. www.dinotoyblog.com/2010/08/25/velociraptor-museum-line-by-bullyland/

Yeah I was gonna say go for the feathered dino toob if you can. The ones that are in there that are actually feathered dinosaurs area really nice for such tiny figures. The others like the pachy, rex, chas...at least in my toob are less than great though. Sloppy paint and warped molding. :/

I already have plenty of figures of T. rex at least, from Dinotales right up to JP2K9...
