hi there the styracosaurus galimimus, and utahraptor are available right now on ebay. the styraco is already at $25.00 but will go up into the $50 range im sure. the edmontonia just went for 56.55 last week, the utah 58.55, the amargo for 61.00 abd i personally got the first version dilophosaurus for 78.00. be prepared to spend around these prices for them otherwise give up. The acro itself will go in the 100's and the ceratosaurus about the same as what i paid for the dilo. the others will be in the 50- 60 dollar range. My advice is to wait till the last few seconds and put in the highest amount your willing to pay for them otherwise you will be snippered in the last 3 seconds.
the stego and ourano are still reasonably price and you could get them for a mere 10 to 15 dollars.

They've been out of production for so long, your chances of finding them in a store are pretty low. However, I've been lucky myself with old figures in small toy stores and museum shops, on rare occasions. Best of luck!

You will not find these in store at all been out of production since 2000. I personally called the dinosaur studio to try to order them. Talked to dan russo the guy who sculpted some of the dinos and he said when the mueseum decided to discontinue them he bought up most of the stock. He only had the stego and ouranno left but that was over a year ago. It it appears that only the stego is available now. He say hes keeps trying to get the museum to re-release the dinos or at least sell the molds but i guess they wont budge.

Maybe we can petition the museum to release the figures again. After all, it is a shame that some of the greatest figures in the history of dinosaur toys remain unreleased.

Just start an online petition [sarcasm]those usually work pretty well[/sarcasm] ;D Sorry, had to get that out of the way. I think, if the Boston Museum of Natural History wanted to re-release the figures, they would. But Battat did not compete well in the mid-90s, when there was less competition; you won't see them dragging out the old molds for a second round. If anything, they might sell the molds and rights to someone else (for the record, that has been tried, with flat rejections).

Any company today that would refuse an offer on one of the battat dinosaur molds is extremely foolish

Here is some food for though lol, there was supposed to be a forth line of the battats one of the figures was supposed to be the Lambeosaurus according to russo. But instead of releasing they canceled them. so the 6 molds that would have been used for the forth line are also under the same scrutiny.

The Boston Museum and Battat have show no interest in doing so. I just noticed how poorly my wording spelled that out.

I bet the boston museum of science could make a nice amount of money by selling the molds. Or they could make some more for their museum gift shop.... (yeah right!)

Do pardon me in advance, as i'm very new here and very new in dino collection. But i have been collecting Japanese toys for passed 10 years. i realized that the Japanese would not 're-produce' their 'retired' figures, this is some kind of strategy that makes the toys very high demand during release and the toys price went up when it sold off or retired. i always thought in American culture, it is normal to re-produce a figure base popular demand. There is always two-folds in everything right? If Battat release again, it makes many hobbyists like me very happy. But at the same time, it losses its value in certain degree. Maybe some company would be so nice to produce about 50 pieces just for us (this forum members)?......hahaha...... On the other hand, who would go through all the trouble just to do that........hahhaaa......... Just sharing my thoughts out loud.........pardon my naive comments.

The cost of a short release like that would make each figure about $2000. But I doubt it would happen anyway.

This is assuming that The Boston Museum still has the molds - I saw something that looked very much like one of the Battat T Rex (minus the arms) molds for sale on Yahoo Japan for about 200 US at one point. There were also some that I didn't recognize, the seller had around 10 molds total.
If the molds were sold, lost, or destryed (as in the case with the GI Joe Skystriker destroyed when it was in the care of Funskool in India) the chance for any kind of release minimizes (or is impossible) and the value will continue to increase exponentially. Good and bad for collectors, I, like many others, value the dino more than the investment.
