Velociraptor arrived today ;D ;D This is the 1:12 version (sorry battlebrack, but my camera doesn't seem to be good enough to catch all the details of that Shapeways white material)

Want one, too! You posted another photo of the 1/12th Velociraptor where it becomes obvious that there apparently were no problems with the teeth whatsoever. So I really hope battlebrak will be happy with it, too and make it available again!

I recieved mine today and I'm quite happy with it. The teeth are a little messed up, but The version I recieved did not have the wall thickness issues fixed. It appears that postsaurischian's is the fixed version. The only thing I must stress is that these are very fragile and delicate models. They are certainly not toys. I also ordered a 1:20 version which is far too delicate and I fear it will break under its own weight so I will not be making that available again. However I am confident that there won't be any more issues with the 12th scale so I will be making it available again. Here is the solid original version: www.shapeways.com/model/120258/male_velociraptor__12th_scale_.htmlAnd a hollow version if you are looking to save a few dollars: www.shapeways.com/model/122574/male_velociraptor__12th_scale_hollow_.html

First: Congratulations & Thanks for your beautiful Velociraptor I appreciate your work a lot! Second: Does this mean I'm the one and only proud owner in the world of the 1:20 version (besides you of course)? ;D (just kidding - the 1:12 version is undoubtably a bit better). Gotta get the Psittaco now (next month, because money's running low)!!!

(Please don't hate me, Horridus ;D)Has anyone already painted the Velociraptor? I'm not a gifted painter but would like to see one from someone who is . So far, I have only coated it with a primer and painted the interior of the mouth. I have not decided a colour scheme, yet. Edit: No, I didn't even coat it with a primer, that was what I did with the Antediluvia models, the 3d printouts don't really need a primer...

I've only just seen this thread, and my word; your Velociraptor is absolutely exquisite. To my knowledge, one of the best models of it there is, if not the best. I must have this at some point. If only funds would allow it now! ;D I'm once again withering with envy at you, Postsaurischian. ;D

Hi all,
Brand new to the forum. Stunned and excited to see all of the artistic talent here...amazing. Battlebrak, I have a question for you though regarding the material for this gorgeous thing. Am I right in assuming that the "white detail" material will depict more of the piece's details than the "white strong & flexible" material? As the artist, is there a material offered by Shapeways that you recommend for your piece? Don't mind spending a bit more money if it makes a real difference in the product.
Really amazing work!

Does the 1:12 version lack the face feathers? you can´t really appreciate them in the painted one.

Awesome to see these painted. I'd love to paint my own but I'm just not steady enough. The raptor sculpt is supposed to have facial feathers, but this paint job really tones down the plumage. I should have feathered this guy more heavily and I'm seriously considering revisiting the sculpt. Still the paint job is excellent.

Yes, and especially the belly and pelvis zone would need more feathers. Some feathers in the legs would be nice too and I´m sure you could make them look espectacular. But please don´t touch that awesome tail! (which funnily enough look a bit overfeathered)
