Oh, Niroot, that's so adorable. I feel sorry for that poor T-tops though if the flying T rexes are indeed closing in fast. Could it be that it's all a clever ruse...an ambush of some kind that will show those obnoxious flying therapod aces once and for all?

Thank you, everyone. I'm glad you still enjoy the ridiculousness... Delightful! Did you use color pencil for this one? Markers, pencils and ink. The pencils were used to sketch with, then the markers (which, by the way, are an entirely new territory for me) served as the base tint, so neither were actually used to 'colour in' with. The finishing details were worked in with pencils again and ink. 'Everybody Loves T.rex' was the one in which I coloured with pencils in earnest, but even that used a limited palette rather than going the whole hog, as it were. Oh, Niroot, that's so adorable. I feel sorry for that poor T-tops though if the flying T rexes are indeed closing in fast. Could it be that it's all a clever ruse...an ambush of some kind that will show those obnoxious flying therapod aces once and for all? Gulp, I didn't think the flying T.rex was part of this; I thought there was to be just an ordinary running one! Oh, and the saddle is just one great lump of cushion, no uncomfortable designs. ;D Although I think Stoneage's idea of just a frill extending backwards could be quite interesting.

Sorry I'm a little late, Chris, but thank you! My computer hates me, and I think the sentiment is mutual. It's been driving me totally librarian poo tonight. Um, where was I? Ah, yes. When I first read this blog entry of David Orr's on LITC, the absurdity of his Interspecies Conflict list seemed right up my street. I wanted to tackle it, but being the usual slowpoke that I am, I was beaten to it by the wonderful Tuomas Koivurinne, which I must confess rather deflated my hopes somewhat. Nevertheless, as you may see from the comments on Tuomas' piece, I still got David's blessing to 'take a crack at it', so here is part one of my damp squib of a result. Larger image here (recommended). You can just about make out the expressions of the Giraffatitan and Incisivosaurus. They are, clockwise: ~ 'Four strategically placed Incisivosaurus vs. Giraffatitan: Two words: beaver style'. ~ 'A hundred Mononykus vs. Carcharodontosaurus: They'd swarm the big brute and crawl into all sorts of uncomfortable places'. ~ 'Protoceratops vs. Leptoceratops. The most disgusting display of brutality and gore imaginable'. I'm not sure which distressed me more to draw; the Giraffatitian or the ceratopsians. Whilst drawing the Mononykus, I had to start numbering them after seventy to avoid losing count. Well, I thought it looked funny. Part II to follow. At some point.

I feel like a bad person for laughing at the Incisivosaurus vs. Giraffatitan, but the Carcharodontosaurus vs. Mononykus is absolutely beautiful. I feel like a bad person for saying that too, but I really really love it! And the little brawl in the corner between Leptoceratops and Protoceratops is brutal, but somehow adorable ;D
Can't wait for part two!

Thank you all! Thank you for your earlier encouragement too, Chris K. It is terrible, isn't it? I know I said the nonsense seemed like my kind of thing, but when it came to actually drawing it, I think I was quite traumatised. ;D My personal favourite is the ceratopsian pair, though not for all the blood, obviously. Ilvy, the whole sheet is 40 x 30cm. Each Mononykus is roughly about 1.5cm long.

Excellent work again! I´m not used to see blood or such a big display of brutality in your illustrations so the Proto vs Lepto one is also surprising ( in a good way). ;D Thanks goodness the Giraff doesnt have blood on it , i already feel bad enoug for the guy... the wood like legs are a great touch.

In the same humorous vein..I had a thought...while working on my Spino I kept thinking how rough it was going to be to display with that sail and the occasional high wind we get around here. I let that sink in and then wondered if some giant gust could have actually toppled ole' Spiney more than once..lol Can imagine him trying to stay on his feet in a windstorm ? Getting bowled over every single time..worse than a T-Rex trying to do pushups I tell ya ! lol ;D

Thank you, guys. And thank you for telling David, Marc!
I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling bad for the poor Giraffatitan, Arioch!
Chris K; you've just planted another image of that Spino idea in my head: he could be employed to actually act as a sail on a boat...
