Thank you, guys. And thank you for telling David, Marc! I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling bad for the poor Giraffatitan, Arioch! Chris K; you've just planted another image of that Spino idea in my head: he could be employed to actually act as a sail on a boat... Man I had that thought right after as well ! lol I wasn't sure which was funnier... ;D He could make a great kite as well maybe...of course we have pterosaurs for that..

Well, I for one am about out of superlatives for you and your work. New dimensions to your artistry all the time. Just keep 'em coming, please.

I'm with Totoro, Niroot! I am also running out of adjectives to properly express my love of your work. You really must, MUST do a book one day. It is written in the stars, hehe! And because you also have such an exquisite grasp of the English language, I would suggest a short story to go along with each picture. Similar to what Sideshow does for each of their sculpts. But, I'm sure yours would be more cleverly imaginative and without a doubt, delightfully entertaining. Thanks again for sharing your gift with us! They truly are gifts.

Thank you so much, Curt and Chuck. Some text for the dinosaur sketchbook idea sounds good, I think! On the other hand, supposing I'm formally commissioned for a children's dinosaur book, I feel sure there'll be text of some description; whether by myself or another author. Though let us be cautious about counting our dinosaurs before they hatch for the moment. ;D

I had to Google 'Dagwood' to understand the reference. ;D Part II of David Orr's Interspecies Conflict Wishlist. Larger view on its dA page. ~ ' Pot-bellied T. rex vs. the Jurassic Park T. rex. It's a draw, until Stan Winston strides out with a glock and empties a clip into Pot-belly.' ~ 'Citipati vs. Gigantoraptor: I see the little dude running circles around Giganto while making some outrageously stupid shrieking sound. For about ten minutes.' With apologies to Stan Winston. I also took a few liberties so he now rides as opposed to strides. I'm not sure whether drawing him or the glock was more of a challenge; the latter is such an unattractive instrument. If he had been wielding one of these, on the other hand... Although we wouldn't really see it anyway, but still. My pot-bellied T.rex is also still far too svelte. And in a postscript to the list... Larger view. Among the replies to David's original blogpost was this comment from SVPOW: 'I hate to spoil your fun, but a single Giraffatitan individual could effortlessly destroy countless Incisivosaurus by sheer awesomeness alone.' Well, I had to draw this too, naturally.

Thank you, folks. Anything can be beat through sheer AWESOMENESS ..just ask Jack Black.. ;D Or perhaps more specifically, ask Po (ie, the clip I included on the Giraffatitan dA page ;D). Niroot, I never realized that you love violence so much! Must be the riots. That actually made me laugh literally out loud! This was a real departure for me, as you can no doubt guess. Then again, who needs riots. Only today, I saw out of the kitchen window two girls who can't be older than eight or nine throwing stones at a shopkeeper. I really need to make more money and get out of this place. Giraffatitan awesomeness should have tear them to pieces instead of just push them back ! ;D Haha, I prefer to think the awesomeness simply knocked the life out of them instantly and without any pain. ;D

These are fantastic. I've prodded Mike Taylor on Twitter in an attempt to get him to look at the Giraffatitan one. (By 'prodded' I mean 'tagged'. Er, of course.)

Study of what I hope is a partially feathered Tarbosaurus. I'm still feeling my way with how best to depict the feathers. I'm not sure it's terribly successful at the moment. Now, I'm hoping to take part in this request for conference art (with many thanks to Andrew for alerting me to it), and was hoping to pair Tarbosaurus with Olorotitan. But if anybody has any alternative suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Very nice. I guess is a juvenile? The feathers look ok, since we don´t know of their arrangement or how they exactly looked....
From an aesthetic point of view, maybe it would look better with thinner and straitght fibres. Sort of a punk crest. And maybe, a bit more scattered along the neck and part of the face.
Tarbosaurs and Olorotitan sounds like an interesting choice (they´re also animals who need more attention). I personally have sent some drawings to hadrosaur and ceratopsian Art Evolved galleries, but apparently they didn´t fit the bill...

It looks good to me. Should it have protruding teeth though?

It looks good to me. Should it have protruding teeth though? Look out or you might start up a whole lips, no lips argument. There is a thread on here that went on for many pages on that subject.

Well, I hate to jinx you or imply that there aren't others here that could do an amazing job with this request for conference art, but it just seems like you are perfectly matched for this contest. I can only guess what imaginative (but completely non-whimsical!! ) illustrations you will develop for this, Niroot. They are as good as published, and I'm sure Mr. Persons will be blown away by your submission. I just don't know how you find the time to create all of these and also complete your 9-5 art. Your tea must be heavily caffeinated. Wonderful job on the Tarbosaurus study too BTW.

From an aesthetic point of view, maybe it would look better with thinner and straitght fibres. Sort of a punk crest. And maybe, a bit more scattered along the neck and part of the face. Yes, those are my thoughts too. I think I just wanted to try something different and less of an 'obvious' choice, but it doesn't look wholly convincing. There are a few sparse feathers towards the back of the face, though more would be good. I'm very surprised your submissions to their regular galleries weren't accepted, by the way. I can't imagine why not. It looks good to me. Should it have protruding teeth though? Malcolm surmised correctly: this one has lips. There needn't be any debate though, it's just one way of depicting them. I tend to switch between the two. ...I just don't know how you find the time to create all of these and also complete your 9-5 art. Your tea must be heavily caffeinated. Wonderful job on the Tarbosaurus study too BTW. Thank you for your encouragement, Curt ( )! I'm not sure how I'll find time either, but I can only hope all the work will be good for me. Try to salve these gaping wounds (ineffectually) with creative balm or some nonsense like that...
