Got 3 cookies for you. ;D
COOKIE #1_ Which would you say it's the most scientifically accurate Baryonyx out there? Toys, figures, models and kits. Anything.
I think the most beautiful one is the Invicta, but that isn't accurate anymore, isn't it? COOKIE #2_ By when (stimated year) would you say that figure became outdated?
COOKIE #3_And finally, what does a Bary figure needs to be accurate today? Does it include a humpback?

Toy-wise I'm kind of partial to the JP versions...and the Procon Bary. Safari's Carnegie Bary is nice..but I think it needs to be re-done now. Best one all in all...maybe Rader Studios Bary :

As demonstrated with the Carnegie Tylosaurus, it may take as little as one year before a figure begins to show an "outdated" inaccuracy. John Rader's Baryonyx probably takes the cake at the moment, but there may be a contender in the very near future.

Thanks Blade. I personally wouldn't dare to call the JP toys "acurate". I do like them a lot, though. But I'm asking for "museum" lines. I was thinking about the Procon one, too. You mean the "deluxe" version? What about the humpback? Is it really considered the Bary had one? I read that on a Procon Deluxe review, they said that was the reason why that figure could be considered the most accurate to date. Dan, what do you know?

Baryonyx didn't have that much of a humped back, as shown in this skeletal by Scott Hartman: skeletaldrawing.com/psgallery/images/baryonyx.jpg Would be interested to read that review... Out of the 'toy' figures I'd still go for the Invicta, even though the pose is out of date.

Right, the procon deluxe and also nobody mentioned the Toyway NHM one which is pretty nice but I'm not so certain how accurate it is with the fossil record....

The Toyway suffers from having uniformly sized teeth and wrong-o-hands. And the head's a bit off.

Horrid: there you have the review where they mention the humpback thingy ezinearticles.com/?New-Model-of-Baryonyx-From-the-Procon-Collecta-Model-Range&id=2462568So, in your opinion they exagerated that "humpback" on that one? In such case, the choice would be the green normal Procon -wich isn't that bad, isn't it? Oh, I think there was also a sort of Invicta knock-off, but I ignore the company... it was like dark pink with white stripes, could be? And the fish and all..... About the Toyway one, hm, nah I don't like that one, neither the Safari one either.... :X

I don't know about accuracy (I'm behind on it), but my first choice will always be the Invicta Bary. Painted or otherwise.

I wouldn't go for the procon; it's very oddly proportioned and the skull isn't very baryonyx like. I'd go for the carnegie; despite it's thinness it's pretty nice and cheap ($8)

My personal favorite (you'd better be sitting down for this) is the Schleich "four-on-the-floor" stance version, precisely because it is so inaccurate! I don't value it for its Baryonxy-like qualities; I value it because it is so easily modified to resemble an annonymous early Triassic NON-dinosaur! To paraphrase Marty Feldman, "A little paint, a few throw-pillows..." (and a good manicure and nose-job) and voila! An early proto-crocodilian predator that holds it own well alongside the more conventional recent Bullyland bad-guys.

I like the CollectA figure for many reason. As a visual aid, here are some from my collection: Cool group, yes? ;D

Oh, Thanks so much Boki! Definitely I love the 4 legged versions, very specially the Invicta. Gotta get one asap -been needing that dude for a long time-. The reddish, white stripped one, that was the one I meant. That is not actually on 4 legs, isn't it? And the Procon, hm I think I am getting a Deluxe version to display the current reconstruction of the animal and compare it with the retro one. Still I'm not sure if I am getting the Deluxe or the Normal green one, not sure yet.... BOKI: a'm I wrong or the Deluxe one has 2 horns in the head, instead of just 1? --Does that also happens with the green one?

Man that Schleich one is so, so bad. Not sure if it's worse than that Ceratosaurus they put out...
