I'm looking for an OPOSSUM miniature, I know Safari made a pretty one but I need it to be tiny for diorama purposes.
Is there any Kaiyodo or the like miniature out there?

Exactly. Those are really beautiful figures and I am looking for something like that, but that's not the animal -though Opossums can be also called Possums, but in truth they are two different genres and the one I'm looking is this one: www.aaanimalcontrol.com/gallery/opossum017.jpg

Thanks man, I would prefer something better done to be honest. OK, you didn't say what size. What scale or how long?

It would be perfect on 1:15.
But it can be smaller, around 1:20 or so.

I could possibly make you one...? How much are you willing to spend and I can see if it's viable?

Really?
I wasn't thinking on spending too much, 3 or 5 dollars at the most. Usual price for a regular miniature...

I wouldn't wanna pay much more myself, but that's not enough for me to make you a custom. Would barely cover materials. Not enough love for opossums. Can't figure out why everyone thinks they are so vile. They are adorable, really interesting and just plain cool.

Here ya go: tgftoys.com/searchquick-submit.sc?keywords=opossumCarve the little babies off with an x-acto blade and you've got two different scales. Come to think of it, I might try this myself. The babies would be roughly 1:40 scale, so could make a nice stand-in for Didelphodon or similar Cretaceous varmints.

How big, in like, inches or whatever... roughly? And how many doing what do you need?

Problem is that figure is 4 3/4 in long (12.07 cm)- over twice as big as 1/15th scale. Opossums with tail are about 24 to 30 in long which scales at 1.6 to 2 in long.

They are sort of cool, really a success story but can be a problem. Reminds me of a story recently. In Brooklyn, New York City they supposedly brought in opossums to get rid of the rats. Didn't work of course, opossums don't eat live rats at all. Now, opossums all over the place. May not be true, the local government denies the whole thing ever happened, I don't know. But they can smell bad, I don't know if I would want one as a pet I know, we 'mercans can give some to you Englisher types to go with the grey squirrels. Oh, and the raccoons in some parts of Europe! ;D

But I do not think they and this country are well-suited to each other. ;D

There was an opossum in my friends yard in VA eating cat foot... and I wanted a closer look, so he chased it hoping it would panic and play dead.
It didn't. But boy. Do they look funny when they run. I bet it never ran that fast before.
I only saw 2 in the space of 9 weeks in the states. But ever time I saw any form of wildlife I was like wow.
The only thing Britain has on top VA (and surrounding area, i don't wanna say US cuz it's so varied) wildlife, I think, is our common bird species are more interesting than common species there.
My garden is filled with sparrows, blue and great tits (chikadees?), magpies (pica pica, not the non-corvid variety), carrion crows, actual robins, thrushes, wood pigeons, some kind of dove... And okay, so it's not native, but ring necked parakeets. I see all of these daily.
In the us, the only bird I saw every day were American robins and circling "buzzards". And WHY is it that both of these names are used for completely different types of bird in the UK?
Anyway, getting off topic here, lol.
