Nicely muscled legs, solid body, spikes don't look silly at all from 'ground level'!!"

Gotta warn you bucket, there's no hip shield... Should there be one? What do you mean 'hip shield'? An armored section right across the back at the hips like the WWD Polacanthus has?

Yes, of course, but the feet/legs(?) are too small and its so stiff that its ugly to look at. At least this one has some personality. Its not the same quality figure, but it gets an "A" for the fluidity.....

Wow! I just got the Shapeways Parasaurolophus and Brachylophosaurus, all the way from Holland. Created by our own Angie Rodrigues, aka 3Dcreature, these little beauties are apparently printed from a CAD program into a real 3-dimensional model. I got the 1:75 versions, which are about the size of the Kaiyodo Dinotales figures, maybe a little bigger. The material is very light plastic, with some flexibility, I didn't want to break them, but there is some give and they are not too brittle. It's not easy to tell with a snow-white figure, but it certainly looks like there is lots of detail on almost every level , skin, muscles, facial features, etc. I think when I paint it and give it a blackwash, most of these features will certainly pop out, so look for a finished version in the near future. As to the figures themselves, the brachy I don't think has ever been done in a smaller than 1:20 version; it looks quite accurate, the legs are long and thin, kind of like a horse (!). And the Para has a wonderful web extending from its crest all the way to the back of its shoulders - don't think I've seen that before. Translucent in the figure, simply stunning. A remarkable job by Angie, I encourage everyone to get these, they are quite reasonably priced, and shipping is included. You guys know I don't get too excited too often, but I really think this something great. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Again, the pix don't really do these justice, you really have to see them for yourself!

Few things--after two months of waiting, finally got my new Starlux Synthetoceros (all in one piece); new Brontothere (all in one piece) and Platybelodon (whose tail broke). Since I picked them up to have 'flawless' figures (my others all have repairs) the Platy is annoying--since my other had a replaced tail! Of course, the new one just has its tail glued back on. Its hard to believe that these brittle things were meant for kids. And check it out: Found them at the local Bargain Shop (the actual name). Yes, the same odd figures from Spain, here in Canada. For all of $8 a box. I honestly never thought I'd find the Discover the Lost World Figures. For those wondering: dinotoyforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=toys&action=display&thread=2166And since it probably attracted the most attention, the Postosuchus is much nicer in person. No minis though. At least, not yet!

Those look different somehow.... Should have gotten doubles of that postosuchus! It's different from the spanish version. The paint jobs are different, but they are otherwise the same. As I look at the Dimetrodon, it makes me sad that they added a sail--I think it would have made a far better Ophiacodon or Sphenacodon. And getting doubles is easy--the store is in the next town over, 20 minutes away. I may do that--my son quite likes them, and I have to admit that they have a certain rough charm. They aren't exactly Wild Safari, but they could pass as small CollectA no problem.

One other thing I should mention about my previous post regarding the 3Dcreature models - the Shapeways team was very professional throughout, they let you know via email when your model is undergoing production, when it was sent out, and a tracking number is provided. These are all very nice features. Lastly, the entire turn-around time between ordering and receiving was less than two weeks, which is excellent.

Got some new dinos from Kevin: Procon Shunosaurus and Becklespinax (much better in person), Carnegie original 1988 Allosaurus and Carnotaurus and Kaiyodo Plesiosaurus.
And sbell, I have some minis if you want to trade for them. PM me about that.

Yesterday I received an extremely retro STRYRACOSAURUS model kit of AURORA, at an extremely low price. It's huge! I looks fairly close to the Styraco from the "Gwangi" movie, but with some carnivorous teeth... Well... The guy is very, very charismatic.

I have finally gotten out every thing in my collection that I want to display, so I am actually getting choosier--I figure that little one inch figures probably won't make it out anyway (when I already have the big versions).
