Jaru I think. I have him anyways. ;D Could you tell how old is that toy? 70's? The Dinosaurio Contrahecho is like a totem for me. It descended from the Marx slim Tyrannosaurus. It's an amazing EVOLVING toy with lots of species and subspecies: My friend has one of those. He has a bunch of Chinasaurs and Retired Dinosaurs that he used to play with.

It's an amazing EVOLVING toy with lots of species and subspecies: Paleo, I think you probably know this but the origin of the contrahecho is this painting of Charles Knight of 1906 (notice the sweet detail of the 3 fingers in the hands): upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0c/T._rex_old_posture.jpgThen the MARX company used that painting as inspiration, on the year 1961, to sculpt their second T-Rex figure (their first had been the infamous pot-bellied dude). www.dinosaur-toys-collectors-guide.com/images/Marx-Tyrannosaurus-Rex-Dinosaur-Toys-hggy1.jpgAfter this, it has knocked-off so many times the poor guy has become an X-Files mutant. ;D First ones to knock him off was by MPC, between 1964 (when Marx stopped production) to 1970. Still not contrahecho yet! www.kaboodle.com/dinocollector/mpc-dinosaur-toy-variations/mpc-tyrannosaurus-variationsAs far as I know, the JA-RU versions are from the 80's, but this date is unsure (Ja-Ru could be older, I just know they were sold on Spain on the 80's because I have one from my childhood, bought on the 80's)

Thanks a lot for your info. As you can see in one of the pictures, I have the two Marx tyrannos, and the boring MPC "evolutionary sidebranch".

Btw, my contrahecho of the 80's came on a baggie with several other little weird mutant dinos, some of them Kaiju japanese monsters, the green "Gorgo" and other little Marx and TimMee knock-offs, all together in the same baggie. ;D

I had one of those weird skinny rexes as a kid, and still have it stored away. It's probably a knock off though.

Which is too bad--the two mammals they made spoke of a talent somewhere in their midst.

Lucky you, those mammals never came to Spain...

Well what do you know, Dinosaur Time got my order completely wrong too!
I ordered two favourite desktop models and received Steg and Pachyrhino. There must be something wrong with their site if the orders are getting muddled.
Don't even bloody like herbivores. Humph.
I hope they let me keep them though. The steg is rather nice and the new pachy isn't as nice as I thought, but I like how small and cute he is. Nice pose too.

Just won an Invicta Blue Whale on Ebay. Okay, so it's not a dinosaur, but considering what line it belongs to I'd say it deserves a place in this thread.
Now all I need to complete my Invicta collection is that pesky little Dimetrodon...

Wow, something must be rotten there...I mean, I can understand mine because the 'wrong' toy was still the same animal (Oviraptor). But that mix-up's completely nuts. By the way, once I get my Carnegie Oviraptor I'm going to sell off my Papoviraptor on the cheap. It's still sealed and everything...anyone interested on acquiring one on the cheap, watch this space...

Indeed I don't know if I'll be keeping my papo Steg and Pachyrhino either, as it's a case of SPACE for me and not wanting to keep anything I don't really, really, really want.

Oh, thanks a lot for linking to Dinotime... I really needed more temptation in my life. I've spent the last couple of days out of town at a seminar, and in between bouts of grueling coursework I managed to hit the shops. And it paid off - I got some more Dino kings! This time I found the Carnotaurus and Ceratosaurus, as well as a couple ceratopsians. Unfortunately it seems the shops have stopped carrying the line, so I just grabbed what I could despite them being seriously overpriced.

My sister just presented me with a pair of Schleich Velociraptors. Nice, but a bit too cartoonesque for my taste.
