Well they both had 15 vertebrae in the neck. The primary difference being that the cervical of Apatosaurus were less elongated and more heavily constructed then Diplodocus. There are a great deal more similaritys then differences. All living tetrapods appear to hold their necks at the maximum possible verticle extension when in normal, alert posture. Sauropods barring any unknown, unique characteristics would have been the same. Apatosaurus, like Diplodocus would have held its neck at about a 45 degree angle with the head pointing downward in a resting posture. Read This: www.miketaylor.org.uk/dino/pubs/taylor-et-al-2009/TaylorEtAl2009-sauropods-neck-posture.pdfAnd I had thought that diplodocus couldn't lift its neck that high. Sue me ;D What's the big deal? Just consider it a learning experience.

Sbell said, "Prepare to be disappointed by your new DVD. Instead of Bear Dog, you're going to get "What killed the Mega Beasts". Seeing as Bear Dog was why I bought the DVD, suffice to say I was pretty choked." Ahhhh, really, sbell! That bites!! Maybe the Canadian version is different, lol! I actually thought I remembered the Bear Dog episode on Discovery. Could have been another special, though. How did you like the Acro segment? I still haven't watched anything yet. I'll let you know if I get a Bear Dog! ;D

I'll let you know if I get a Bear Dog! ;D The Acro segment is pretty good, although with the usual heavy-handed Discovery melodrama. And the package of mine said Bear Dog was included--says so right on the back. But inside, I got what killed the Megabeasts. Which I already have. And which could best be described as tolerable. When I have a moment, I will be writing a very unhappy letter to Discovery (and Gaiam, the DVD maker).

Received the INVICTA BRONTOSAURUS!!!!!! What a retro beauty! And the price I paid for it was shameful. It was in a chinasaur lot. Oh, man, I do love those awesome chinasaur lots. I also got a "THE LOST WORLD making of" book, wich cost me 3 bucks including shipping from UK.

(I know, totally random, but the ones I saw in my nearest store had badly painted ones)

Nope, these are ok.
And they even painted some blue around the eyes, just as in the movie -the blue is only noticeable when looking close though...

A 'Do-you-think-he-saw-us'? "What do you call a blind dinosaur's dog?" "Oh shut up. Either go to sleep or I'll make you go and ask Genarro. Bloody kids." By the way, am very envious Foxilized, the Apatosaurus is the only Invicta sauropod I'm yet to get! It keeps eluding me...

What a great day! Finally handed in that bloody term paper, and when I got home there was a box waiting for me. New Papo Velociraptor, green Allo, the old Carnegie Dilophosaurus pair - I'm a sucker for models in non-standard poses, especially pairs - and the awesome toob of skulls! Attachments:

I just got a Battat Styracosaurus, and the seller included a Dinotales Pterygotus. I'm looking to trade it. Anyone interested should see my thread.
