Am I the only one here who isn't an uber-fan of those drawings done by famous paleoartists?

Boki--no comment ;D I'm seething with jealousy and while not a recent acquisition, I believe there were a few requests for a pic: Stout is one of my favorite artists, paleo or otherwise. I have an autographed copy of The New Dinosaurs: Looks like I need this murals book! Towards this end, I am offering up my hardback copies of The Carnivorous Dinosaurs edited by Ken Carpenter, and The Dinosauria, 2nd edition by Dodson, Weishampel and Osmolska. I'll put that info up in my classifieds thread in a bit, but feel free to PM anytime if interested.

The new dinosaurs was one I always wanted to read. But I didn't know it was illustrated! "The New Dinosaurs" was written by Dougal Dixon, wasn´t it? That Stout book, it says in my German translation, was originally just called "The Dinosaurs".

That Stout book, it says in my German translation, was originally just called "The Dinosaurs". The New Dinosaurs by Stout is the 20th anniversary edition of the original book called simply The Dinosaurs, published in 1981. The new edition features additional new artwork, commentary and most important, new dinosaurs that weren't discovered yet at the time of the first edition. Not to be confused with The New Dinosaurs: An Alternate Evolution by Dixon, which is speculative fiction.

Envious of you too. ;D In fact, I must say I hadn't been too familiar with Stout until very recently. The more examples I see of his work, the more I'm convinced he counts the early twentieth century illustrators and other Fin de siècle artists among his influences too, which is definitely a big plus for me.

Oh, won't you share some of those, Dr. Andre? ;D I would of course have shared the chocolate but sadly, the seller has eaten everything up before he sent them to me! ;D Okay, that probably wasn't what you asked for? Sorry for being a completionist, but I will also keep the goofy ones. ;D Sometimes I even buy CollectA... Just bought Jobaria today (no, that one doesn't seem too bad, though but I even have Gigantoraptor and Dracorex)...

Well, it was worth a try, I suppose. ;D I'm hoping to get the CollectA Jobaria myself one day. Ultimately though, it doesn't matter a wit how accurate a figure is if one likes it. That's the most material reason for getting anything.

Guess who else got the Stout book? ;D True, mine's borrowed (yay for interlibrary loans!) but I can see this is yet another book I simply have to get. Talk about eye candy!

Heheh yeah itsure is one of the nicer collector item based book and hell yeah man the art is simply fantastic. There is another book thatr has been on my mind for years but the problemis, I can't get to it's name, the last time I saw it was back in 1988, it was something like a book about futuristic Dinosaurs, some had feathers and such, I just can't get to the name of it but man these arts were very very good for the time. All what has remained is this bague memory of it, if some of you know what I am taling about please how me it.
