Tyrannosauron - where does he lump Giganotosaurus? Surely not into Carcharodontosaurus? In the case of Giga, he ascribes the species carolinii to "Giganotosaurus (or Carcharadontosaurus)"; the question of why isn't addressed anywhere that I've found just yet. His notes don't mention much more than his belief that restorations of carcharodontosaur skulls ought to be shorter. Honeslty I can't see any problem on that. ...C'mon, don't you love Batman too? ;D It's a logic problem: statements like "I love x" are normally interpreted to mean "There exists some x and x is loved by me" (or, in symbolic notation, ExL(me, x) where L(p,q) is "p loves q"). So if, say, Guanlong doesn't exist, and I say "I love Guanlong," then in logical terms I'm saying, "There exists some x such that I love x and x is Guanlong and Guanlong doesn't exist," which is obviously self-contradictory and therefore meaningless, despite the fact that I clearly meant something in making the statement. And yes, I love Batman, but that isn't a problem because I am Batman.

Whilst I am entirely ill-qualified to even begin contemplating the verities of Tyrannosauron's excellent postulations ( ;D), I do know that I agree with Fox: it's quite simple; we may go on being as fond as we like of creatures whose existence may to all intents and purposes no longer be supported by fact. ;D
Oh, and yes, Tyrannosauron, I am not altogether looking forward to this year's end...
Dr. Andre, that's a gorgeous new acquisition too! ;D

Oh no, not me Thanks Cordy! Wow, so I used a color that the master hasn't used yet? I am flattered and humbled also...... ;D But you didn't answer, has it improved over that wretched orange? BTW, it wasn't me who got that mini t-rex for such an outrageous price...

Received the Sideshow Allosaurus VS Camarasaurus dio a few days ago... Funny you should mention that... Forgive me, for I have sinned... That expression matches my own in terms of incredulity at what I have done... Mine came with these skulls too. It turned up on eBay, was in the country, and open to offers. I not only saved on the cost of the model itself, but a fortune in shipping and thrice-extortionate-profanity-inducing customs fees. How could I have resisted? That said, I ought by rights to subsist on nothing but baked beans on toast for the next few weeks in recompense... Great to see that you got the exclusive version. In our country, the exclusives cost almost $100 more (which I find to be totally absurd) than the regular versions so I have no desire to get any of the exclusives from here

Skeleton later? ;D ;D ;D I think with all of your new incomes, its time that you round them all up and show us what ya got,eh? Same goes with you, brontoD ;D Oh, I would love to make more than just individual photos of my collection and I already thought about a lineup of all my sauropods, all theropods, etc. similar to your threads (even if not with such a vast number of figures). I'm afraid I can't do that at the moment - it would require more free space than I currently have available and my youngest son (he's 18 months old) would make any attempt of a meticulous lineup futile. But in two weeks he will go on a trip for three days with his mother and I hope there will be a chance. Unfortunately, by then I will be more busy than now. By the way, I've just read that Thylacosmilus may or may not have had upper incisor teeth, C.S. Churcher (1985) argued that their absence may be an artefact because the premaxilla was not preserved.

Well, think about it in terms of your own birthday. If I was born in 1981 (I was ;D), I would have to count 1981 itself as my first year; I couldn't possibly discount it and consign the year to oblivion, even if I had wanted to. ;D In such an instance, it isn't simply a matter of 2000 minus 1981, the years themselves will need to be counted on their own. True, in 2000, I would have been nineteen years old, but in reality, I would already have entered upon my twentieth year of existence (oh, golly, the horror ;D). Here's the magic spanner ................................... don't forget that we're all 9 months older (give or take) than our official age! I suspect it's the projects 20 years. For instance, I just finished a piece of artwork I started fiddling with in 1993. As far as I'm concerned it's a 1993 piece and hence dated 1993. It's the conception date that counts for me and that seems to be the case with my wide circle of slightly derranged artist friends

Good Heavens, I made Blackdanter sigh with something from my collection. ;D Himmapaan, you have sin! ;D ;D ;D Buying a poor terrorized camara ;D J/K Nice addition, congrats ;D Your first sideshow? Your expression now? Skeleton later? ;D ;D ;D I think with all of your new incomes, its time that you round them all up and show us what ya got,eh? Same goes with you, brontoD ;D Then I have sinned twice over! Hehe, yes, I may well end up a skeleton with the ration I ought to enforce upon myself after this extravagance. ;D It is indeed my first Sideshow. Alas, it would be very hard for me to line up the figures for a photo session for similar reasons to Dr. Andre's; I don't have enough space to set up. And as so many figures are having to be stored away, I can't really take pictures of them 'in situ' either. But hopefully one day, something can be managed. Great to see that you got the exclusive version. In our country, the exclusives cost almost $100 more (which I find to be totally absurd) than the regular versions so I have no desire to get any of the exclusives from here Ah, what a pity. As far as I know, there is no official stockist of these in the UK at all, so we would have to buy from overseas. The nearest place in Europe is Urzeitshop in Germany. I was very lucky that this one happened to turn up here and happened to be an exclusive. I shall treasure it all the more; not that I wouldn't anyway!

That sideshow piece is my favourite of theirs. It helps as well that Forbidden Planet in London have it on display, so you can see it in person.
My only criticism of it is how shiney it is.
How much did you pay?

Congrats on finding it. I'm sure I've seen a UK stockist for these someplace. I'll have a dig around and let you know if I can find them again I absolutely cannot and must not go down the resin sculpt route myself as I just don't have the space to store them safely. Edit: As Hajime says it's good old FP!

Thank you, John. I had real trouble finding space for this too. Where it stands at the moment is hardly the best showcase for it at all. I'm sure I've seen a UK stockist for these someplace. I'll have a dig around and let you know if I can find them again Edit: As Hajime says it's good old FP! That sideshow piece is my favourite of theirs. Why had that not occurred to me? I've just checked their website and it looks as though they only have the Allosaurus v. Camarasaurus and the Velociraptor v. Protoceratops, rather than the whole range. But that's very good to know nevertheless. It's much less shiny in real life than the prototype pictures. Though if you've already seen one on display, I assume you still find it too shiny yet. I paid a fair bit less than the FP price. ;D
