They must have ran out of the old ones and decided to send the new one in place of it...... They fully refunded me and told me that they had no more of the older ones, so they should remove their ad from amazon if they don't want to keep refunding shipping charges.... I doubt they ran out since I only got mine last week. When did you order yours? hmm...that's interesting...maybe I should email their customer service, and ask them specifically? I dunno, I'm confused.

I got the big Schleich Spinosaurus! The tail needs to be longer, the lacrymal crests shouldn't be there, and the hands should be slightly larger and facing palm to palm. Otherwise, I really love Jimmy here.

Although I wasn't given a dinosaur present for Christmas, I did buy something for myself which happened to arrive just in time. I've only just managed to take a picture. Kaiyodo resin Velociraptor and Protoceratops kit. It's evidently one of their older designs, but I'm afraid I don't know how old. Perhaps Blackdanter will be able to furnish us with that information. ;D This is Kaiyodo's picture of the finished piece: Presumably, the Protoceratops is a youngster.

Yeah, it looks pretty retro. The Velociraptor looks very reptilian (and it has very stout jaws too). Will still look good when painted I imagine.

Niroot, PM me for an answer to this Resin kits are a vast and murky subject that really deserves some sort of concerted cataloging effort by someone with a lot more knowledge in the area than me. You'd think that there would be an indie published book or website on the subject ................ perhaps there is/was but we just don't know of it. Even a book on Kaiyodo's complete dino output to date would be a good start for the resin kit collector. Curiously, I've started bringing the info together with a vague project of this type in mind which actually started out as an idea for a website but I'm now thinking that, with the effort involved, it would be a bit mad to just dump this into public domain on the web for someone else to pirate and use as the basis for a book

It's really not that bad a figure. Yes, the Steppe Mammoth was better, but it's still very nicely detailed. It's definitely better than anything Schleich has ever made. I like it alot.

I was wandering around Newtown today and I came across a shop that sold all kinds of old stuff, mainly records, but old toys and things as well.
In one cabinet was a JP electronic Velociraptor, still on the card, with the collectors card, everything.
While I wanted the non-electronic version more, I wasn't going to pass this up. So it is now mine. I haven't opened it yet, but I plan to.
