I second the suggestion for a quilled, keratin-sheathed trike in 1/40! Oh, and with wide scutes on the ventral side, of course, corresponding with recent discoveries EDIT: Or, a nice, accurate deinonychusaur of some kind. I can't think of a properly feathered one on the market near that scale.

...which model would you like to see next in 1/40? D David, any word from your patron about the specially-commissioned Diplodocus? That figure is amazing and I would LOVE to buy one - in any scale - but 1/40 would be mind-blowing!! If not that, are the 1/72 Antediluvian figures in play here? Because I'd love to see some of those available again, and a little larger would be great. The Apatosaur, the Saichania, and the Styracosaurus figures would be awesome!!! Oh...and Stegosaurus!

I'll get every single one of your pieces before I spring for one of the Shapeways models (nice though they are ...)

I was only kidding- although rereading my post it seems unclear of that intent- I have worked too many years as a professional artist to let my ego rear its ugly head- I would never claim to have 'the best' stuff in any medium be it sculpting prehistoric critters or painting landscapes, or doing life cast figures, etc. etc.- I know that there is always someone else coming along who will blow your mind- which these figures by David do- or say the sculpts of Shane- I admire the ability to work with computers to do these as I am a dinosaur when it comes to this technology- in the exhibit field it is still too expensive for most projects to say make a life size mammoth or whatever , so traditional sculpting still has its place for now, but this is definitely the way things are heading- It is nice to know that David is able to sculpt just as well or better with clay- I have seen artists who work on computers exclusively who cant draw or sculpt a lick offscreen, which is fine really, whatever gets one to the end product is the only thing that matters, but it is sort of sad to an old timer like me when young artists arent schooled in the basics of drawing and painting. A lot of art schools now dont even use oil paints due to the health concerns. I digress---

...so traditional sculpting still has its place for now, but this is definitely the way things are heading- ... Traditional sculpting -- and that of other art forms -- will always have its place alongside all the new ways of creating.

Well the Diplo isn't much bigger than the Rex there..probably wouldn't be too costly. It would look great with the Battat one..

Shane It is not intentional that I have not answered you, sorry if it seems that way. I will need to sculpt on lots of scales and details to make the Edmonto ready for 1/40, so that one might be a little while. Really great paint job on that guy! Same detail note goes for the Trike and other Hell Creekers. I did fully detail the Alamo, but thats a hefty price tag. I think I'm partial to the Kosmo right now because it's cheaper to do after such an expensive one like the Rex. I'll keep taking votes though, it is helpful. A 1/40 Rex at Shapeways would cost between $130 to $240.00 in case anyone was wondering. D NO i know you didnt Dave but i was wondering so thanks for answering , Yeah i too think that the Kosmo should be next, I also want to order a 1/40th T-rex that Mike casted what do i need to do ? Lots of love for your work David, always had and always will, Your work was "the Bar" that i set my sites on when i started sculpting and still is. Thanks for staying in the business, David.--Shane. I'd love to own your Alamosaurus at 1/40 scale. If we're talking about one of the cheaper options, I'd also go with the Kosmoceratops. Btw, great buildup of David's Gorgosaurus, Shane.

Yeah, that's really nice. The Interaction with the environment really sells the pose. Nice colors too. Are the eyes taxidermy or are they painted?
