I repainted a couple of figures using a painting "HUMBROL ENAMEL" wich I thought is acrilic and special for plastic figures. Thing is the figures were painted yesterday and they are still VERY STICKY. I don't know why this happened, and I need help on discovering how to solve this. Do you think adding a matt barnish would help? Ow would it maje it even stickier? I think the problem is not they are not yet dry, cause I remember this happened to me once and it continued sticky for weeks. Please help.

Your best bet is to take some thinner and remove the enamel paint because it will remain sticky on plastic. Then purchase some acrylic paints (it will say 'acryllic' on the bottle, otherwise do not buy it) and re-paint it.

I think Simon's suggestion is probably all you can do, Chema. Remove the paint as best you can, and start afresh with acrylic. A matt varnish probably won't help and is more likely to react rather badly with the wet enamel.

ENAMELS paints are the best but !they are not acrylic! you need to use some thiner. You dont need to use the thiner of the same brand, You can buy a 500ml can of thinner in a "carrefour", i thnk the best thiner is the NITRO one (thats not a brand).
By the way, Enamels takes 3-4 days to dry, thats why its not easy to work with them.

Entomologists use that Enamel paint to mark individual ants and track them. I saw it on the TV. Why are you using entomology paint on your dinosaurs? Absurd! ;D ;D ;D ;D

By the way, Enamels takes 3-4 days to dry, thats why its not easy to work with them. Well, then I am going to wait 3-4 days till it's totally dry and then if it continues being sticky I'll remove it. I have hopes on this, cause I really don't want to rework the paintjob. I didn't know it took so much on drying so for the moment this is quite the best explanation at hand. It's not absurd if you remember how salty the sense of being powerless in front of an angry army of anti-atheist carrots left your middle leg. You remember, don't you? Or maybe it was just another song sang by Tsang-Tsung and the loving kisses of pigs being used as wheels by cars being used as spoons. Bah, probably not.

Update: The paint just dried and it's not sticky anymore. So are you happy with how it turned out? Pretty much, yeah. The paint is quite good and doesn't change colour or tone or anything when dry. It also is very dense so it painted the surface quite well. The only problem is how much it takes to dry, but after 4 days it's absolutely no-sticky.
