I remember reading a book in 3rd grade that had opabinia in it...it was a short story of some kid who went to the past.

OK I'm sure I spelled it wrong. The 5 eyed swimming worm like animal, but more of the point is I'm surprised this creature and others from the Cambrian Explosion time period aren't on and Pre dinosaur DVDs. Opabinia isn't a worm but belongs to Arthropoda. If you watch "Walking With Monsters" (which covers the pre-dinosaur period), episode 1 "Water Dwellers"(This covers the Cambrian period) . You will see its much larger relative Anomalocaris. I believe Opabinia wasn't the center of intention because it is much smaller and Anomalocaris was the the biggest animal, that we know of, from its time. They also show Trilobites and Haikouicthys in this episode.

Opabinia was featured on a Discovery channel show recently. I think it was called "Earliest Life" or something like that. Hosted by David Attenborough. The animation was really good.
