Hi every one. i took a little trip up to Connecticut to visit the Peabody museum of natural history. Home of some of the collection of O.C. Marsh. I am sure you all know who he is. This is a very nice museum showcasing Marsh's "Brontosaurus" His specimens of Ichthyornis an Hesperornis witch helped prove Darwin"s theory of evolution. And John H. Ostrom Specimens of Deinonychus. We all know how important those raptor's were to our modern knowledge of dinosaurs. Of course there is the incredible age of reptiles"mural, just recently cleaned and looking great. The museum all so displays a beautiful bronze life size statue of Torosaurus. The museum also boast and impressive collection of prehistoric mammals, modern animal dioramas, minerals, and ever live reptiles, amphibians, and a leaf cutter ant colony! here is the link to the full gallery s153.photobucket.com/albums/s218/chrissupo/Yale%20peabody%20museum%20of%20natral%20history/

Great! I was just reading a discussion of that Apatosaurus mount. That's the holotype of Brontosaurus excelsus. It's mostly original bone but even the originals have been completely plastered over and painted making it impossible to tell how much of the skeleton is actually real. Apparently Yale is planning to take the whole thing apart for re-preparation at some point.

Zallinger mural is gorges I love the marigold flows that the triceratops is browsing threw. I wish more flowers were used in dinosaur paintings and documentary's. There was not one flower that i can think of except amongst the iguanadons in WWD. I notices the paint and plaster that has worn off of the"Bronto" bones. What rely needs restoration is there stegosaurus. Its a real frankenstine of a mount.
