And finally... In Late cretaceous North America, a Triceratops manage to stab the neck of an attacking Tyrannosaurus, though the predator chopped off its right horn with the powerful jaws before getting away and die slowly. Please comment!

I feel bad for Tyrannosaurus, in the three pieces I depicted him fighting any hervibore he only wins against the ankylosaurus (and he was already gored by trikes cousin), someone could think I hate him ;D

Indeed. Here´s some new conceptual stuff to work on in the next weeks: Stegosaurus armatus, Ornitholestes and Dermodactylus:Uploaded with ImageShack.us(I think some of the plates are misplaced and I´m not sure if the stego tail should be a tad shorter) Kronosaurus:Uploaded with ImageShack.usTroodon formosus (based on S. Hartman skeletal drawing):Uploaded with ImageShack.usAnd an old request, Edaphosaurus facing a sandstorm:Uploaded with ImageShack.usTips and critics are welcome! (though I guess a lot of people must be busy with exams or just on vacation)

Hey, I'm back! ;D I'm so sorry...
T. rex fighting the Triceratops looks rather good (although is he attempting to the hitch a ride on the Trike?) . The T. rex's head's a bit off but the Triceratops looks magnificent.
Regarding the Stegosaurus, it looks really good except for the fact that you appear to have given it ceratopsian hands. Stegosaurus actually had columnar hands rather like sauropods, with only two claws. I do really like the idea of having a theropod chasing a pterosaur up its back though! Haha, Stegosaurus is just saying: "Meh."

Hey, I'm back! ;D I'm so sorry... T. rex fighting the Triceratops looks rather good (although is he attempting to the hitch a ride on the Trike?) . The T. rex's head's a bit off but the Triceratops looks magnificent. No mating jokes please ;D I thougth it was a shame that most of the Tyrannosaurus body didn´t show up if both legs stay behind the triceratops (and I´m always trying to achieve the highest level of dynamism, or use to do that )...so.. basically he panics, trying to desesperately wound the trike with the feet claws after being gored, but fails miserably. I´m not happy either with the Tyrannosaur head, especially the wideness of the snout and the lower mandible, which seems too thin. I started working yesterday on the 1.1 version (also fixing some small details in the trike). What else would you change in the skull? this is what I have done so far: durbed.deviantart.com/#/d3k6ejw(I feel bad it didn´t look perfect, since it was dedicated. I put all my efforts on this one details). Regarding the Stegosaurus, it looks really good except for the fact that you appear to have given it ceratopsian hands. Stegosaurus actually had columnar hands rather like sauropods, with only two claws. I do really like the idea of having a theropod chasing a pterosaur up its back though! Haha, Stegosaurus is just saying: "Meh." Yep that´s one of the details that have to be fixed; I was a bit distracted here with the stego anatomy (also are the plates right positioned in the tail? I understand there must be some divergence within the same species or even dimorphism to justify it but I feel like I might have pushed it too far). Miragaia came out def better. PS: (Nobody liked the Muttaburra? I know he´s not very attractive, but... peloton69.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/forever_alone.jpg )

Don't cry, you will start me off. I like the Muttaburrasaurus. Oughtn't the palms to face each other, being an iguanodontian (rare though it is for me to point such things out)?

But should the palms really face each other when running too or it was just a low speed or still stance? because it seems to fit the later, but not a very comfortable position to move faster than that (now the hands point a bit outward by the way, though not drastically)

As I understand it, the positions wouldn't change according to gait, as they couldn't have rotated the wrists. Though again, when I say 'palms facing each other', I don't mean in an absolutely straight 180 degree-parallel (as you already know . So I guess there's some leeway in drawing them in tricky stances. I feel dirty, ugh! ;D

Yes, of course. The palms should always point inward, but I guess there would be some slight rotating angle. I´m speculating though but being mostly quadrupedal animals, and having to flee from predators in a daily basis as it was their most common defense, being able to rotate the hand a bit (lets say up to 50º towards pronation) so the hoofs could push the ground backward would be a big advantage to reach higher speed . Aw, I don´t know if I´m making myself clear... Maybe we need a diagram ;D

Yes that´s the pattern I was following , but didn´t emphasized it enough. I think I finally got it or at least got quite close. Thoughts?

Better. I think some of the teeth might be a bit long, particularly at the front. Tyrannosaurus is known for its marked heterodonty (er, among other things).
That Triceratops really is good though. In fact all your ceratopsians come out really well. Maybe you should specialise in them! ;D Can I request a Triceratops in that style on its own, looking suitably regal?

Hmm, dunno, I´ve seen some T.rex skulls where the front teeth are almost as large as the rest. But yes, maybe there should be more variation in size and some should be a bit smaller. I´m currently doing a third version of this with colours AND another sketch: a big front view of Tyrannosaurus rex head in detail -which I got pretty obsessed with while I was trying to correct this one. Not an easy job though, and I recommend to try, the skull shape is harder to get right that any other non avian theropod I´m aware of. And... you might haved noticed that ceratopsians are my favourite hervibores, followed by duckbills ;D. Although they are so overrepresented everywhere that I usually prefer to focus in another animals. But you´re right, I should give them a bit more love. About the request: of course! just say what kind of posture (running, quiet, staring at the horizon, etc) you want for the trike. Also, here is the finished Troodon: Uploaded with ImageShack.us

That Troodon is glorious! As for the Triceratops, just walking along looking dignified is fine. Good luck with the T. rex front-on view. I did try it once...yeah, it's hard, that's all I'm gonna say

...the skull shape is harder to get right that any other non avian theropod I´m aware of Yes. And that goes for even the deadly simple profile view. Wretched T.rex.. I love the Troodon's colours. And I would still encourage you to do more traditional colourwork. I'm thinking of how splendid this Troodon would look... I'll even send you a box of pencils if you intend to put them to regular, concerted use. ;D
