A ceratosaurus, inspired by S. Hartmann skeletal drawing, which shows a way more robust creature than we used to think. I´m currently painting it. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Nice! The dewlap is something you don't see every day, but it suits him! Looking forward to seeing what colors you're going to choose.

Yes; I made the arms smaller as I started painting. Is funny how I often notice this kind of things only later, when is more developed.
About the teeth- Intraspecific variation. ;D Really, they´re not far from the lenght of the 2nd stage holotype fangs (and mine is inmature, something between 2nd and 3rd).

Whoa! Beefcake! I love it!! Nice patterns and coloration too. Does his head look a bit big, though? Not sure. But really love the overall look!

I still think the hand-talons could do with being a tad smaller. But I love the colour scheme.

Hmm, dunno, I checked Hartmans drawing and those seem to be about that size, even a bit shorter and stumpier. About the head, maybe it should be even larger! the skeletal skull is massive, like 1/6 of the body. Again, intraspecific variation . Glad you like it guys. I´m quite happy with the colours, probably the best paintjob I´ve done so far. When I look at the first drawings I posted here I feel a bit embarassed. (Ok ; I think the problem is the 3rd digit, it should be shorter than the 2nd. I´ll change that.)

Wow, beautiful. I think I agree about this being your best colour piece too!

Thanks man. Little by little my drawings are becoming something I can be proud of. Those last 3 or 4 months have been artistically intense for me!

A bold Austroraptor managed to snatch a Carnotaurus chick.

Thanks man, glad you like it. What do you mean with "dragonic"? I be predictin' he means th' spiky bits, but I lust for spiky bits! These last three be so far me favorites.

Oh... Well, that ´s meant to make them look more realistic, more...organic? A lof of modern reptiles have this kind of spikey scales and bits in their wattles, heads, arms and stuff. I admit there´s some stylization and I follow an anti-smooth skin policy but I dont try to make them monster like intentionally, though maybe thats how they´re coming out. :/ Its up to each one perception, I guess.
And thanks, Im quite proud of Sue, maybe is the closest thing to a "pro" illustration I´ve ever done, lol.

I wouldn´t even call that a background, is more like a suggestion...lol, but yes it sort of looks better than previous ones. Maybe in some future pieces I´ll really try something more naturalistic, like one long term project I´m considering featuring the fauna of Barremian Europe. It will consist of a series of drawings, each one focused in a different animal from the same scene, with the others at a relative distance (so you can never figure the whole picture until you see them all and their respective location). But so far its only a concept...

Yep, I´ll probably get to it once I finish my current piece. I have some concept sketch around. I still have doubts about using wether the fauna of the Wessex Formation of England or North eastern Spain (with Concavenator, Pelecanimimus, Baryonyx, etc). The later appears to be a bit more diverse and its a bit overlooked, so probably that one.
