Edmontonia close up at the first stages. Uploaded with ImageShack.usNot sure if I got the shape of the head and armor right. Every reconstruction I´ve seen is different to each other. I need some reliable source or illustration before going on.

Here is Greg Paul's rendition of two kinds. He's usually reliable. Its from the book Princeton Fieldguide to Dinosaurs. Def buy it.

Thanks Griffin! Not so far of what I have done so far...I was afraid the head looked too iguanodon like. Is the segmented armor unaccurate then?

Is the segmented armor unaccurate then? Looks like it is I'm afraid...Paul provides a skeletal too, that depicts large scutes arranged in regular rows within small scutes.

I've enjoyed this series of drawings of yours. On this one though, the shoulder spikes should be a lot lot bigger. Of course I can't draw at all so take my advice with a grain of salt!

Thanks! I wasn´t sure about where to put the big shoulder spike, the second or the third row...hence I didn´t! Is the segmented armor unaccurate then? Looks like it is I'm afraid...Paul provides a skeletal too, that depicts large scutes arranged in regular rows within small scutes. Hold on - all these small dots all over the back surrounding the big scutes are indeed small scutes? not scales? Should I add them before continuing doing the scales? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Um...actually I'm not sure. I know bugger all about ankylosaurs. Anyone?
Edit: the way you are drawing it in the above image looks about right.

Goat eyed hervibores FTW! ;D Um...actually I'm not sure. I know bugger all about ankylosaurs. Yes so do I, that´s why thyreophors are my least favourite dinos to draw. The d**n armor is so hard to get straight! Well, the Edmontonia so far: Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I really like this edmontonia. I can`t say if everything is correct, but it looks absolutely great.I can`t draw, but for my sculpts I am always searching the internet for inspiring pictures, so I did for edmontonia a while ago. There was nothing I really liked, but this picture is inspiring!

I very much appreciate the proper plumage on the Velociraptor. Nicely done. If there is anything to be improved there, I'd say you might want to check the hand anatomy of the Velociraptor. Here's the near identical hand of Deinonychus (with Archaeopteryx on the right): upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/39/Archaeo-deinony_hands.svgNitpicking though. I really liked it (and the Edmontonia too).

Hmm. You mean the middle finger should be a bit longer than the other two, and here the difference is barely noticeable, right?
I don´t like the raptor hands neither (specially the right one), but after all I did this over an old drawing on a moment of lazyness. I´ll try to fix it though, I´m still working on it adding scales and stuff.
And glad you liked it!

Should the velociraptor's snout be longer?

I still believe bigger dromaeosaurids were a bit half arsed, though ;D (at least surrounding the neck area) Should the velociraptor's snout be longer? I´ve checked skull proportions and I think is about right...maybe the feathers covering the mandible make it look shorter than it is. Although In the original drawing (which was unfeathered) the eyes were sligthly backward positioned.

Well maybe someday I´ll do some full stegosaurid or ankylo...they´re a challenging -or maybe I should say tricky- to draw correctly. An update of the Proto and raptor: Uploaded with ImageShack.us
