Huh. I appear to be here waaaay too much. Although if there were graphs provided for activity, I'm pretty sure there would be a big slump over the last 6-8 weeks. Stupid work that actually keeps me engaged most of the time!

Piltdown would probably be in the top 5 too, if he had not left.

Well, that's his own problem, and we should not care. Well I think whenever we loss a member over a disagreement it is unfortunate. I admit he made some personnal attacks on people that were regrettable but he was being taunted with arguments like "strawman, strawman, strawmen" and pictures of Scarecrows. Also whenever he said archaeoraptor was a fake he was countered with composite Yes the fossil was a composite but Archaeoraptor was a fake. Even the Paleontologist involved said it was a fake. So even though I disagree with some of the things Piltdown said, like name calling, I do believe he made some points.

Ziro/TTL/Pilty was a prominent member of the forum, and I think people on this forum should be able to have a civilized debate without it getting out of hand. Look at what happened to my cryptozoology thread Cordy, sorry about the miscount, but now you have more than that

;D Maybe we need an impartial referee to make sure people argue in a fair and civilized manner.

Well, that's his own problem, and we should not care. Speak for yourself. He knows a lot about dinos and several times he gave us fresh news and exclusives. His absence does affect the forum in a very negative way if you ask me, not to mention that he's my friend, so I obviously didn't want him to go.

;D Maybe we need an impartial referee to make sure people argue in a fair and civilized manner. Do you think such a person exists? Totally unbiased probably not, but if we could get past the taunting and name calling it would be a start. Its not about winning, or shouldn't be, but rather a discussion of ideas and view points. A lot of wars are basically about beliefs. Unfortunately people tend to be intolerent of people with different beliefs. Can't we all just agree to disagree and try to get along? It may not work but thats no reason not to strive for it. ;D

It's how humans are. But it's still a good goal to attempt to debate or argue objectively without taking disagreement personally. It just doesn't happen much.

I miss Ziro. I agree, It's always sad to see a member go. I hate to see him sell off his collection, but it did give me a chance to buy some of his figures. He is such a pleasure dealing with and is always fast at shipping. I should ask him if he is selling any more amphibians (hear that Thomhet? , better act fast! )
