My latest acquisition has doubled my number of Invictas. I'm a long way off from a complete set but considering the zero I had a year ago I'm pretty happy about it. The latest additions are the Tyrannosaurus (which I remember fondly as a kid), Triceratops (I love the level of detail on this guy) and the Wooly Mammoth. Soon to arrive will be the muttaburrasaurus and then I intend to take a spending break on figures. The mammoth who I will admit looks odd among my dinosaurs. The legendary face-off. Because my Invicta collection is steadily growing I've decided to display them away from the other figures. Here is the rest of my collection where they reside, there are a few however elsewhere around the house.

So that classic purple T.rex (although its body position is not correct) is from Invicta. I really like it, reminds me of some surprise images (transfer ones/adhesive) from chewing gum that I often bought in my childhood. After a 'lil search on the web I've found out that dates back to 1977 - wow! I want one of those too ;D Brings back memories.. PS: nice growing collection you've got there!

There is a lot incorrect about that Tyrannosaurus (as the review by Horridus points out) but I love it regardless and it was my first Invicta as a kid, its great to have it again. I got it and the other Invicta figures on the UK eBay site, the rex cost me U.S. $1.75. The UK eBay seems to be the best best when looking for Invictas.

Thanks, gwangi for the eBay tip: i found one Invicta T.rex there and now I'll try to buy it as quick as I can (it's about an auction that ends in three days).
PS: From what I know, mmfrankford, cardboard, paper and the likes are good retainers of heat..and you know how cats love sources of heat (my grandma's cat always went to sleep up on the terracotta stove [type of heating installation, built on the principle of heat retention by rocks, made out of special brick]).

Yes, gwangi, that's the guy that I bid to (if you click on the "Bid history: 1 bid" link, you'll see "x0versus1y" nick - that's me ;D).
As for your cat, try to train him/her by pouring some vinegar on a specific plastic bag that you let somewhere where the cat has access. The smell alone will cut the appetite. If you repeat this trick a couple of times, the cat will dishabituate. Or you can try this: find an empty spray bottle (like one of those used in washing windows), put water in it and keep it close in the room; when you see that the cat is trying to mess with plastic bags, spray in her direction. The sound alone is enough to discourage her action. If not, the water droplets will do the job, giving in time (you have to repeat this process every time the cat goes to the bags) the understanding that is not allowed to play with the bags (will form an conditioned reflex).

Well you shouldn't be disappointed, the figures I got from him are in perfect condition. I'm honestly not that worried about him, he is about 12 years old and it is something he has always done so I'm used to it, we make a point to hide all plastic bags from him and usually use cloth bags anyway. I do appreciate the tips though. Water wouldn't work with this particular guy though, he loves it! He plays in his water constantly and has even gotten in the shower with us. ;D

Well..that's the first cat I know of that loves water, LOL! ;D As for the Invicta's T.rex, hope that Saturday it will be mine - as I've said: I'm really found of the memories of my childhood and dino has a special place in them.

Best of luck, Andrei. I used to have some spares of the Invicta T. rex but traded them off some time ago.

Thanks, DinoLord. I hope I'll get that figure; because I wanted to buy an Invicta Dimetrodon too, but was automatically outbid by some fellow every time I posted a new price offer. A shame - it was a nice figure. By the way, gwangi[/i], the figure below (pointed out in your photo - the green..T.rex?!) - is it an Invicta too? If it is, then is another model of T.rex, possibly an early or later model than the purple one?!

It's the Invicta Megalosaurus. You can tell the age of the Invicta T. rex somewhat by the shade of red. I think there's a thread on it.
As for the Dimetrodon, that's a shame. The same guy used to sell them as $6 BINs.

He is a Maine Coon cat, or at least has Maine Coon in his blood, I guess it is a characteristic of their breed. Dinolord, I noticed a difference between my tyrannosaur and some of the others and was wondering what that was about. Mine seems a lot more...shiny. I like it regardless. I also want the dimetrodon but it seems to be one of the harder to find Invicta's, eventually I would like them all and I'll have to pony up for the rare ones. I haven't decided if I'm just gonna stick with the unpainted ones or if I'll try for both painted and unpainted.

I have a dull strawberry red invicta rex and also a shiny dark red one (see my invicta variations thread). The light one is older, the dark one is fairly recent. You can also tell the age, to some extent, by how much information is on the belly.

I was actually looking at that thread yesterday, I didn't realize so many variations existed but am not surprised, the clear megalosaurus is awesome. I remember having the dull red rex as a kid.

Finally got my collection off of the top of my bookshelves and gave them a place of their own. It frightens me how much my collection has grown just this summer alone. Sauropods Theropods Tyrannosaurs & Marginocephalia Ornithopods & Thyreophora Non-dinosaurs

Thanks! I guess the wholly rhino is alright but I wouldn't call it astonishing! I actually wrote a review for it for the blog. You should be able to find it on eBay for a couple bucks, that's where mine came from.
