Just out of curiosity, I am wondering how much a complete set of mint condition Battats with original tags would go for on the open market. It's fairly volatile--good Diplodocus alone can go for over $200 (the high was $800+ several years back; a current auction for $500 appears to be falling flat this time); the Acro, a good rex, and a few others will probably reach 100-150; the others $50+; a few may command less. Overall, a complete MWT set should fetch over $1000 up to $2500 or so; the caveat is that few collectors will actually spend that much at once, instead preferring to pick and choose the ones they need as they gather them over time--unlike some less expensive lots, it would be difficult to purchase a set of this size and value to "strip it for parts" so to speak. So it might depend on how important it is to you to keep them together; doing so, in an auction, may actually gain less overall (someone who only needs one or two probably won' t be willing to get involved after a certain, lower point). On the other hand, you might find some attract a lot of attention, while others sit for a while.

I am willing to purchase the whole collection one day, I just don't have the $$$ now I did mention about this before, but back in 2007, a local highschool kid sold his entire Battat collection (minus the minis and T.rex version 3, he had an almost complete collection) for like $100...... Obviously he wasn't aware of the value of those (and he was also selling a bunch of his collectibles for a ridiculously cheap price back then. Seemed like he wanted to get rid of all his stuff as soon as possible). Anyways, I still rave like a madman everytime that unfortunate event pops up into my head. It was one of the best opportunity of getting the Battats which will most likely never happen again.

I feel your pain Dyscrasia! When the Battats were first released, the first time I had seen anything in the line was in a crafts store, which had stocked entire bins FULL of the Diplodocus figures! Still being wrapped in their plastic bags and not fully visible I passed them up as 'ugly'. RAR!

...entire bins FULL of the Diplodocus figures! My mind is reeling at the thought. I just had an extremely surreal moment. The image came to me as though I really had been there before...

Hehe, it was at an old Pearl Paints store in Long Island As late as 10 years ago you could order the ENTIRE 18-figure collection online from aboyd.com for around $140 or so .... I should have bought a spare set ...

Yes, I think I have decided to sell my collection. I love them, but I have made a decision to take a trip to Africa, and to me that is a lot more important than having a bunch of dinosaur toys sitting around. I figure I will offer them individually on here before I put them on eBay. Message me with prices and offers.

Well, so far the Ceratosaurus has the most interest. Currently, the high offer is $50.
