Hi guys
a while ago (like a month ago, I totally forgot to share this with you) I contacted Toyway pregnant doging about their more recent figures, this is what they had to say (very friendly people by the way!)
Dear Carlos,
Thank you for your email regarding Toyway Dinosaurs.
Perhaps I should explain a few things about the Dinosaur models we sell.
Our current own manufacture range is the Natural History Museum collection.
These were sculpted under the direction of a prominent NHM palaeontologist
with colours approved by him. We tried to give them dynamic poses, in which
we succeeded to a certain extent. These are to a constant 1/40 scale,
similar to Carnegie. We will shortly introduce the Tyrannosaurus in a large
scale, 400mm long, and although based on the smaller model, is even more
dynamic. We plan to introduce more in this series next year.
We produced the BBC Walking with Dinosaur models in 1999 to coincide with
the TV series that year. The licence ran for about four years and was then
terminated by the BBC. Relatively few were made, so it's no wonder these
models are so highly prizes! We were very fortunate with these as we used
the actual models from the series from which the computer generated images
were produced. Also, we used the computer generated colours for our colour
schemes. The down side was that the models were very static looking.
We are also the UK distributors for Safari who are the manufacturers of the
Carnegie range.
All the other Dinosaur models we sell are generic items from various
manufacturers. Some are good and some are not so good, but are aimed
primarily at the children's toy market. One of the better ranges we do are
the Carnage Dinosaurs. However, these will not be available for much longer
so you may want to make sure you've got these if they appeal to you.
In conclusion, I would hope that you like our NHM range which is on a par
with Carnegie for the 1/40 scale and will be unique in the large size for
quality.
I assume you do not live in the UK, in which case, where do you buy from?
Best regards,
Stan Alton,
