Ah dear, I guess I have to put this up then. I haven't looked at my dinos for almost 5 years (packed up in a box with my toy whales) since last night. Here's a quick pic while I look for photo-box to take individual pictures of em later. Current count: 7 + 1 (Amargasaurus) I've had these dinos since pre-K. Five of these you all might recognize. The Stego, Para, Microraptor, Pteranodon and Elasmosaurus are all Carnegie dinos from Safari Ltd. These I loved because well, they were the ones I personally bought as a kid. Good times. Except for the Pteranodon. It's got a hokey paint-job. The other two a generic theropod (no marks) and a 12-13 inch tall Dor Mei Brachiosaurus (1986) were my first dino-toys given to me by my parents. Both are hollow plastic and quite soft. I did evil things to these. Like putting them in the pool to watch 'em sink and general kid things. Of all the toys, the Dor Mei Brachiosaurus and the Carnegie Elasmosaurus are my favorites. Aquatic reptiles and long-necked sauropods... those are going to be my undoing here and I hope to add more to my little collection. ~Weaver

Hey, we all have to start somewhere. I collected dinosaurs as a kid too but I got rid of ALL of mine. So I had to start from scratch! Count yourself lucky. (And if you want to see where I've got to since about 2 1/2 years ago, check out my collection thread. I blame this forum.) It's always great to see a collection grow, so keep us all posted...

Really?! Man, I'd give you a hug but your collection is in the way. Blame the forum, that's what they all say. XD Y'know the more I look at my stupid Dor Mei, the more I'm interested in the really old, absolutely incorrect models. Maybe that would be interesting to explore someday.
Anyway, thank you Horridus for not laughing at my pitiably small gang of dinosaurs and for the encouragement to get collecting again.

Howdy neighbor! I'm just across the way here in Utah. I also had to recollect almost everything after years of not collecting. So in the interest of passing on the collecting bug (and freeing up some much needed space) shoot me your adress via PM and I'd be happy to send you some goodies.

I also had a collection as a kid that ended up sold off at yard sales or taken to thrift stores. I deeply regret that decision but I mostly blame my mother for that. I had an absolutely massive collection and as I search through eBay I constantly find ones that I forgot I had.
Anyway, I'm back in the hobby now and this time for good, I don't intend on selling this collection. I just started a year ago but my collection is shaping up nicely. You're off to a good start and at least you managed to hold on to some from your youth. I used to have the elasmosaurus myself but that is one I'm gonna have to re-acquire.
Horridus, you've only been doing this for 2 1/2 years? Looking at your collection I thought you had been in this for twice as long or more. I wonder where I'll be that far from now...

Pangolinmoth: Right back at ya' neighbor! That's terribly kind of you Mr. Pangolinmoth. I'll send a PM in a sec. gwangi: I charitably donated a few of mine to a younger boy-cousin... I wish I knew what had happened to them. D: Ah, I wish I'd held onto more and not been so influenced to let my dinosaur-fever die down. It just wasn't cool for girls to like dinos in middle/high-school. This is all going to be corrected. Rebuilding my collection of toys and my collection of books too. >.< The battle is not lost!

Nice collection... you just wait, in time your collection will be so huge you won't even know where to put them ;D I started collecting dino figures after a road trip and seeing some really awesome locations. Actually, passed by Utah, nice scenery and fossil out there. Anyway, if you ever want some figures to add to your collection, let me know... I'm in the process of "down sizing" my collection and I have some that will be needing a new place to call home

The Caudipteryx IMO is one of the best feathered dinosaur figures out there and one I still need to get myself. If you go with one of those sauropods the Amargasaurus is the best figure for it's price and quite accurate. Where marine reptiles are concerned I would go with the Ichthyosaurus. Honestly though, with a little shopping around and some patience eBay is your best bet. For example, on your web site the Saltasaurus costs $10.00, I got mine on eBay for $3.00.

I know, I should wait but I can't. XD Maybe I'll just grab the Caudi and Icthy or just the Amargasaurus then let that fuel my 'need-dinosaurs-now' drive to shop around on eBay for more sauropods, marine reptiles and feathered raptors/at least one Carnotaurus. XD
Thanks gwangi! I really needed help on which one/pair or so I should get. It's so hard when you've got a little collection and want to buy EVERYTHING. D:

My collection has grown a lot in the last year, more than it should have really. And yet I just want to keep getting more. I feel tremendous pressure to get the new Carnegie and Safari figures. But than I step back and take a deep breath and admire what I already have. A lot of the figures I now have were one's I wanted last year and couldn't wait to get, but now I have them. It isn't a contest, I'll get the ones I want in due time. It is too easy to get consumed by something like this.

I had a little, little collection before my Invicta - passion. It consisted of an Elasmosaurus (AAA), a crazy Allosaurus (suited fine for plasticosauria), a Dimetrodon (I did terrible things to it, too - it suddenly didn´t have a lower jaw anymore...) and one of those open-mouth Styracosaurus from China. I lost them. If I still had them today they would get an exposed place in my cabinet, for they were my very first ones. I don´t find your "gang" ridiculous, because it is a start. And, as bokis said: The more you´re on this forum, the bigger your collection will grow!

Nice collection of veteran prehistorics. The nucleus of a family sure to grow, now that the passion has been re-ignited. May your shelves groan under the weight of these and your new aquisitions a year hence.

I got the Amargasaurus. I couldn't not do it. It was the last Amarga at the gift-shop and it's such a darling figure too. <3 Need more sauropods! I forgot how much I like em. Though I'll have to repaint the tip of it's tail... doesn't look right to me. XD I'll get a Caudi and the Crylo on ebay another day. But oooh! The Velociraptor from Bullyland looks incredible! I also should be snatching up a Carnotaurus too.. Thank you Gwangi, Bowhead, and Fossil! Oh the shelf will have to be expanded someday... it's already crowded with books.

Carnotaurus? If you're thinking of the Carnegie one it is already available. The Amargasaurus was one of my first figures as well and my second sauropod out of my current 15 or so...still one of my favorites. Good choice.

gwangi: Yeah, that's the one. I was hoping the local hobby-store would have them but they don't so I'll have to get him off of ebay or Amazon. I dunno, he's really starting to be my favorite, he's even sitting next to me as I work on homework. Such a flashy sauropod... he really makes me smile.

My Amargasaurus is the Chap Mei one. Maybe you already know it? It has red spines, green eyes and looks very ferocious for an amargasaurus.
