Has anyone seen this movie yet? It's a National Geographic Imax movie that is all about pterosaurs! The trailer looks good, something different. I was very disappointed that I missed it when I was down in Portland's OMSI. The place was close the day I was down there! Hey Sepp, did you go see it yet? Anyway, here is a youtube link to the trailer www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj6Lkfs2kAA

Hmm, with David Attenborough too. Looks beautifully done! It's gotta be playing in NYC somewhere. Maybe we could catch it when we have our NYC meet-up for the AMNH?!

I promised to take my grandmother to see it next time she's in town, so I've been waiting It's hard to resist sitting in a showing during break on my shift though, hahaha.

The DVD, “Flying Monsters,” in region 2 format for Europe, will be released on Nov. 7, 2011 by Amazon.co.uk. No word about whether there will be a region 1 format for the US. Not to be confused with National Geographic’s “Sky Monsters” from 2006.

It was shown at the BFI IMAX here in London early in the summer. I'd learned about it too late and all the tickets had been booked, which was something of a surprise to me. But I suppose it might have appealed to many families with young children too then. I seem to remember it coinciding with some school holiday or other.

I watched it at the BFI Imax in London when I went there in mid-June. The visuals were quite lovely but the science wasn't too sound at times.

Visually, the film looks really impressive, IMHO At least there are no bad-acting kids in this one ;D I hope that they release it in DVD/BlueRay

That´s too bad. I´ve readed some reviews and it sounds really disheartening. So basically it is something you can enjoy as long you turn your brain off (like M. Mortimer said about DR, albeit I don´t agree with that concrete example). So I´d still pay for watching this anyday...

If you have the chance to see it I'd recommend doing so. In my opinion at least, I found the visuals to be quite stunning. Just beautiful effects and images. Great use of 3-D too, really adds to the image instead of making the pterosaurs jump out cheesily or something.

I saw it today. I thought it was pretty cool. The Imax cut did away with a lot of the points that were raised in the pterosaur.net review (Pterodaustro wasn't even in it, for example). I actually liked the sequences where Attenborough was interacting with the CGI creations. It was like they were trying to recreate the parts of his documentaries where he interacted with living animals, and I thought it worked well.

I torrented this program a week ago and I must say, it's about time that we get some accurate pterosaurs on screen! I personally liked the show

Where is this playing? I thought it was supposed to be at imax theatres evrywhere after Christmas. But it isn't around where I live.

I think one of those last ones looked like darwinopteryx.

I watched it a couple of days ago. The CGI was really awesome, though it fell short in the information department. However, it was more about spectacle, being in 3D and all, much like Sea Monsters was. And it was awesome to finally see some accurate pterosaurs on screen.
It did bug me how every single animal, except for Quetzalcoatlus, had the exact same parrot sound effects.
