Thanks for the link to your review. And thank you for your compliment about my taste in figures. But then again, I did buy the latest Schleich Apatosaurus and I think the Allosaurus looks interesting (I mean first and foremost as a figure, not as an accurate representation of any animal that ever existed )

But then I didn't, because, er, it's big and has quite a number of flaws. I'm not a fan of elephant feet on sauropods - smacks of laziness. As for the Allosaurus, well, are you talking about the 'ReplicaSaurus' one? Yeah, it's not great...

Beautiful! Can you post a larger picture of your avatar with the McVey TRex in the woods?

You have a great collection. You photograph them very well, very impressive pictures you take. Looks like you live by a nice forest? I hope to see more of your figure photography I love the CollectA Plateosaurus, it's one of the best one out Your picture of it outdoors reminded me of mine... that I lost in the woods a few month back

I know about your loss, I read it a few days ago in your photoraphs thread if I am correct.

Beautiful! Can you post a larger picture of your avatar with the McVey TRex in the woods? I would love to do that, but I am not sure if it will hold up to scrutiny, because the lighting was not great and such. Maybe I should make another picture first. But it does deserve a beauty shot I guess

Here's a little cosmetic (Photoshop) make-over of my Papo Allosaurus. For truthfulness sake I will say that I sharpened its nails, whitened and sharpened its teeth and brushed up its colors a bit. (Call it cheating if you wish ) Oh yes, and I retouched away the seams. (Thanks to Horridus for the comments about the teeth. Below is the corrected version.)

Ooh, pretty. Although that is a very pretty figure to begin with! ;D It's a shame about the small flaws it has, like the tyrannosaur-style snout ridge and bunny hands (although the latter can be fixed easily). Still, it's the perfect demonstration of how Papo can't be beaten on aesthetic quality, and has a prominent spot in my collection.
Also, your photos are the perfect demonstration of how Norway is a very beautiful country.
I will say one thing though - why did you whiten the teeth? Surely it'd look better with at least some of the teeth being a bit discoloured? After all, dinosaurs didn't have to worry about looking after their teeth!

I did not whiten the teeth at all, but the color of the paint stood out so much after photoshopping that the whiteness of them made me think I did 'bleach' them further. I didn't. But the teeth are all too white and I will fix that (and replace the photo).

One of the latest two arrivals. First, the Schleich Apatosaurus. A lot of things going against it (obese, incorrect head and feet, and other things), but I like it. It has a nice character and presence.

Just came across this thread. You take absolutely beautiful pictures! It's very rare that I see these figures in such beautiful environments and exceptional lighting!
And yes, you do have great taste in figures. I too believe it's not completely all about perfect accuracy (although in some cases I can't figure out why they don't get certain simple well-known aspects correct -- feet and hands especially). But, I understand the total overall likeability of a sculpt. They are all in the end, artists' interpretations. And like they always say, art is in the eyes of the beholder. ;D

Once again, nice and interesting photos. I like the Apato figure very much despite it's inaccuracy...
