Hey all. Short time lurker here finally posting. I'm Minnesota Jones. I've been a dinosaur fanatic since around 1974 when I was in 1st grade. I've still got most of my dinosaur toys that I had as a kid (some still up in the attic) and I've never stopped collecting figures, fossil replicas, and going out fossil hunting. Unfortunately, no dinosaurs here in Minnesota, but we have lots of great Ordivician fossils. Even found a couple trilobites. Well, parts of trilobites that is... You all have a great site here and hope I can contribute as well. Museum of the Rockies "Welcome... to Jurassic Park!" - Islands of Adventure in Orlando Mike/MN Jones

Yeah, I was 13 back in 1981 when "Raiders of the Lost Ark" came out. The rest is history. Indy is another of my other passions.

I like you already Mr. Jones (I don't think you'd like it if I called you 'Minne' although 'Sota' works well enough) and I can tell you've got a lot to contribute.
Hey. Hey, I'm a Coloradoan (south of Pueblo) so hello from Colorado too!

Gwangi,
I liked Crystal Skull a lot. It's not Raiders, but any Indy is good Indy for me. Besides, it's nice knowing Indy is still punching out the bad guys in 1957. Loved the cameo of the Ark in the Area 57 sequence. I'm on the staff on IndyGear.com and we had some members on our board get so riled over the last movie I swear they were gonna pop a blood vessel in their heads! Life's too short to get that worked up over a movie... so we gave all the hot heads two week suspensions!
weaver,
On IndyGear, a lot of the members over there abbreviate Minnesota Jones to "MJ." But sometimes that makes me think of Michael Jackson... ha! Although I've gotten used to the MJ nickname, just "Minnesota" is fine too! You're from Colorado? I've got to get back there and spend more time at Denver's museum (only had about 2 hours there back in 2003). I also want to hit the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park. Have you been there before and is it worth it to go?

I enjoyed Cyrstal Skull as well. For me it was another Indy movie, no better or worse than the rest. I maintain that if it came out just after the first three it would be considered a classic just as they are but toss in a decade or two and people don't feel like they're allowed to like it. I have my complaints about it but they're all pretty minor.

Shia swinging with the monkeys? Everyone it seems loves Raiders. Over on IndyGear, there are those that LOVE Temple of Doom, and those that can't stand it. Same for Last Crusade and Crystal Skull. Pretty much both sequels and the prequel (Temple) have their fans and their haters both. It's amazing how many fights there are over it all. It gets to be almost funny after awhile. I'm sure the same is here. From the little I've been here, I can see Papo being a powerkeg in topics too.

Shia in general actually but yeah, the monkey scene comes to mind as does the sword fight where he is standing on two cars. A bit too cartoonish for me. Honestly I think Temple of Doom is the weakest and I love Raiders and the Last Crusade the most. Most of my friends on the other hand love Temple.

Thanks everybody! Indiana Jones and dinosaurs go together like peanut butter and jelly... Actually, one of the Indiana Jones novels from the 1990's is "Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur Eggs" where he goes to the Gobi and finds a live Triceratops. And yes I have the book but no I haven't read it... yet.
