I am in modeler's-block and need a spark of inspiration. Sad I am scratchbuilding a Cameroceras orthocone mrogers.wikispaces.com/file/view/awesomely_awesome.jpg/48964171/awesomely_awesome.jpg so the scene will be underwater. But that doesn't matter. I need something to "jog my elbow" as it were. Something to get the diorama juices flowing. Maybe a website with dinosaur diorama tips or a few great dino dioramas with a build diary or something. Can anybody help me out? - Leelan

Do a Google image search for Ordovician, and you should get many hits of photos from museums with lots of orthocones in the dioramas. Did you see Malcolm's Silurian diorama kit? dinotoyforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=dinonikes&thread=4566&page=1 When you finish your model, please post a photo.

Thanks, stemturtle!
I have those pictures from museums about the Ordivician. But they all show the giant orthocone as a bottom hugger so I take them with a grain of salt.
Malcolm's diorama is very cool. I may steal some ideas from it. I just need to do some checking to get the details in scale --- which is 35th btw.
I will certainly post pictures when they become available.
Thank you!
- Leelan

Modelnut, we are getting off topic for the Silurian diorama kit thread. I am using this thread instead. Thanks for posting the photo of your whale sculpture. Nice work. I expect you will solve the 1/35 scale problem for your orthocone sculpture just fine. Look forward to seeing a photo.
