Don't worry, what you lack in museums you make up for in incredible living bio-diversity and I'm extremely jealous of you. i do find it kinda cool that it's the only country where reptiles and birds are pretty much the top predators. I don't think it is the only one but yes, that makes it pretty cool. To think, before humans arrived New Zealand had no mammal species aside from bats!

Did they happen to have this scale model displayed some where in there? I remember It was associated with the famous skeletal display

Alas, never been to this museum. The one time I had the chance, the Museum was closed for the day for some renovation! Really cool pics.

I didn't see any models but the entrance was pretty crowded and we has a lot to see, I may have missed it. That one is fantastic though.

Looks really nice. I learned about this model when I was a kid, while playing with my dinosaur computer program. And it said that this was used as a life like depiction model for the museum. but after doing a little more searching, I found that it is Japanese media.photobucket.com/image/barosaurus/mjbdesign2300/Trex-utan-mook-cover-600.jpg?o=11

Isn't that the same barosaurus model that galileo sells?

The above is indeed Kaiyodo. As I'll most likely never be able to have that, I'm very glad Galileo does have his own version of the scene to offer.

WOW! How did I miss this thread!!! Your pics turned out great, Gwangi! All the colors look so natural like I remember them. I still need to post mine. (Still fudging with iPhoto on my new Mac -- was always a PC person before!) But so far, most of mine turned out a little dark with a lot of golden overcast from the lights I guess. I don't know, took them with my Nikon digital camera I always use. Maybe I had a wrong setting on and didn't check it. Anyway, at least I have these to look at now! Thanks for posting them!
