I didn't know this. Scrap the mosasaurus then. It's alright--I just assumed that everyone knew that--it's been posted in the 2009 thread for a while (btw, it's awesome).

^^^ But you didn't post pics of them Anyway, I'd suggest to post only a handful, otherwise it would be too long.

Yeah, that list kind of defeats the spirit of suggesting 1 or two things. In fact, I do believe I mentioned in the very first post, to only suggest one thing (I bumped it to two in a subsequent post).
Sid, please consider which two you would REALLY want to see, and provide a good picture of each that I can present to Safari.

Keep this in mind when suggestion figures "Safari appears to be making a effort to differentiate the Wild Safari line from the the Carnegie line. Recent releases seem to avoid duplicating any of the Carnegie line." From the Dinosaur Collectors website (site B) My suggestion: Kentrosaurus Coudnt figure out how to paste the pic, so heres a linky!

The Oviraptor that came out this year seemed to part of a new line...Dino Discoveries or something...wonder if there will be a new piece for it as well ?

Umm...That was a picture.
That said, I think I will definitely suggest Kentrosaurus. It seems to have a lot of support. And I'll be honest, it never even occurred to me.

^^^ *grumbles* To be honest, I hope they make more non-dinosaur figures ;D *flees from angry mob* I feel the same way, BUT, we need to be honest, they will do dinos. And a good Kentrosaurus would be a good thing. I am also leaning toward the thescelosaur or ornithomimid suggestion. Neither gets done much, if at all, by anyone, yet they are found everywhere (in various forms) and are generally recognizable (it helps that Ornithomimus recently showed up in Prehistoric Park).

I don't know if ornithomimids will sell though. I mean, among collectors, probably (not a fan here but as long as it's well done I'll buy it) but kids tend to like big teethy carnivores ;D nobs, I took the liberty of editing your post (All you have to do is select the link you've entered while you edit your message and press the 'image' option, which you will find in a row of insert buttons, or you can manually put the code: [ i m g ] on one end of the link and [ / i m g ] on the other, obviously without the spaces I used)

I've considered that toothy issue--but I like to believe that not every figure can be one. In fact, ornithopods overall have been pretty much ignored by Safari for some time now; ornithomimids have been ignored by everyone.
These are only meant to be suggestions, in the sense that there are animals that simply have not been seen as figures yet, and maybe Safari could have the chance to do it first.
Just so you all know, I'll take suggestions until the end of the weekend, at which point I'll narow the list and send it off (and I'll tell you what I included, maybe I'll say why, and how I justified it).

I think it's worth thinking about a stork-pterosaur, both because it's a really novel/cool pose, and because Safari can talk about how they're keeping things "in line with current scientific research", etc. Makes for a good press release for an educational toy.
Tiktaalik would also be good for a smilar reason - a transitional form replica could do a lot to improve public awareness/understanding of evolution.

Yes, but I'd like to a see a WILD safari deinosuchus. The Carnegie one is...kinda dull. ;D

Yes, but I'd like to a see a WILD safari deinosuchus. The Carnegie one is...kinda dull. ;D Yeah, but why recommend an animal that they've done in one fo their lines? That would not fall under the 'unique' distinction. But Sarcosuchus is already on the list (because I put it there, and I get final say!).
