Hi everyone, Within the past year or so I was introduced to the board game The Settlers of Catan. Since receiving a copy of the game for Christmas this year, I've played over a half dozen games with friends and we can't get enough! I also recently purchased a mini-expansion which introduces oil springs and environmental disasters to the board. It adds some exciting alternate rules! I'm planning on getting the Seafarers expansion soon along with the 5-6 player extension (because a fifth person had to be left out during play today), and was wondering if anyone else on the forum is a fan and can tell me how well the expansion sets play?

Ha! I got it for christmas as well and absolutely love it. Have not yet played any expansions but am going to get some soon. I've also played it almost daily since getting it. It truly is a great game. I also got a card game called BANG which is quite fun and an easy game to bring around and kill time if needed.

I love Settlers! It's the gateway game that got me into board gaming! I definitely recommend Seafarers. It just adds some simple new mechanics that nicely expand on the original game. I'm not familiar with the environmental disaster expansion tho - sounds cool!
