I am wondering if any of you guys ever collected dinosaur cards, dinosaur sticker albuns and other related stuff, like phone cards etc.
Here in Brazil a collection of cards was released in 1993 and it is pretty much what made me a dino aficionado. The cards were made of hard cardboard, and each came with a chocolate bar.
The chocolate was made by Nestle and the art in the cards was done by two brazilian artists (Brasilio Matsumoto and Rodrigo Leão). There were 30 cards and if you sent a letter to Nestle with a couple of chocolate wrapping on it you would receive a free album to collect the cards. The cards had info on their back about the species featured and other paleo curiosities.
The album was very nice, but the art on the cars is very impressive, all done whithout computer, just traditional techniques. Despite some innacuracies, lack of feathers and some other small details, the anatomy of the dinos is pretty good on the cards. A while ago I scanned the album and decided to post the cards in here for you to see and maybe comment on it, show other card collections you have.
Enough talking, let's go see what is really interesting.
Nº 1 - Cynognathus
Nº 2 - Staurikosaurus (Love the color pattern)
Nº 3 - Shonisaurus
Nº 4 - Heterodontosaurus
Nº 5 - Dilophosaurus (this card made Dilopho my favorite dino ever).
