I seem to have heard from a few other members that they have closed down?

They went out of business several months ago--and were in the process over a year ago.
Good riddance.

They generally were over-priced compared to others. I was rather selective about what I bought from them for that reason. I never had any issues with shipping etc with them though.

I looked, saw prices, and passed. So glad I did.

I did like how they had everything listed though..photos were easily accessible and was cool to check and see all in one page scroll what was new and when it was coming out. I think I only ever made three or four orders from them though.

I loved Link and Pin, I am very glad I got one last order in with them late last year. They had a lot of retired stuff that I couldn't find anywhere else. I also got my two battat resin masters from them.

I bought some stuff from them too, when I used to have spare cash, and always found them to be very good. I managed to finish off my mini-Revell dinosaur collection through them for a reasonable price.

I went there and looked a lot, but their order 'form' was so convoluted I never bothered.

I never had to fill in an order form, I just emailed a list of what I wanted, and then paid the total. Shipping was always fast and the prices seemed more than reasonable to me. Of course, I ONLY bought retired stuff from them, so I had nothing to compare prices with. There was so much japanese aqua-life I never got a chance to get though Another thing I just thought of, I don't know if I bought much from the actual original L&P. When they went out of business, everything they had left over went to some other guy who was selling it from the same L&P website. I think I got most of my stuff from him. Perhaps he had lowered all the prices.

I think they were nice. They had a lot of retired stuff that couldn't really be found anywhere else. It was a shame to see them go.

I for one am sad to see them go. My first resin dino kit came from them and they did have a lot of cool stuff (albeit some of it quite pricey). I had no issues with ordering either, just emailed asking for a postage quote, gave my card details over the phone and the stuff was sent out straight away.

Art of Link and Pin was a real gentleman. I first bought resin dinosaurs from him 10 years ago. Over the years I picked up quite a few pieces - collectors PVC figures, resin kits, toys - from them.
They were a little pricier than some of the competition, but they more than made up for it with the rarity and quantity of items. It often made more sense to get a whole bunch of stuff from L & P and save on all the extra shipping charges you'd get buying from 5 other lower priced outfits to get the same collection.
I know that a few years ago his wife was very ill and he started selling off items from their own collection to try to help pay the medical bills. Shortly after that the business wound down. I have no idea what they are doing now, or how his wife is doing.

He made the announcement thru PT a while back, saying due to the economy all his customers went away. Nothing medical related was mentioned in the blurb. I really liked his catalog and have quite a few kits from him.

I really liked his catalog and have quite a few kits from him. His ads were more specific than that--in them, he outright called every other retailer a dirty player for 'undercutting' his prices. As someone who has seen the wholesale costs for many years (I've always had friends in retail) it felt that what he meant was that everyone else was simply charging fair price (MSRP). I don't know anything personal, but I do know that to ship to Canada was a ridiculous amount of money, and so never bought a thing. Dinofarm, Miniature Zoo (when it existed) and TGF were always much better to me (and later, Dejankins).

Yes i agree the two best sources are dans dinosaurus and Dejankins, these two guys are as trustworthly as they come. I too did business with link and pin early on but when the economy started getting slow his (Art) attitude when speakig with him on the phone was very abrupt and his words were if you dont like it then i will pull your stuff from my store ,it not like they are flying off the shelf ya know. This was his response to me asking him why he is charging prices so much higher for my kits on his site than on my site, No one bought them from him because of this , he wanted to make to much on each kit. I was letting him carry my models listing on his site and only charged him wholesale prices so if he charged just a little more than i did he would make a fair amount off each one sold but that wasnt enough to him. I told him to go ahead and pull them from his site as i dont want his bad attitude to carry over to my customers when they tried to buy from him. Thats that last i heard from him and then a few years later they went out of business. Sorry he couldnt make it work though, it was nice to see some unique models on the site from time to time.- .

This topic made me think of another company I ordered from ages ago..anyone recall Monstrosities ? That's where my first Battats came from...they also carried some things I've never seen anywhere else.
