Ok so we know there is a whole family called pliosaurs but i have heard of a species named pliosaurus. was this a real pliosaur species and if it is how big did it grow?

Pliosaurus is indeed a pliosaur genus, after which the group is named. The genus contains 3 species currently. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PliosaurusI know it could reach pretty large sizes (there is a HUGE jawbone assigned to the species P. macromerus in the Oxford University Museum of Natural History).
